Round 1: Kelly vs. Erica

Round 1: Kelly v. Erica
Hand to Hand Combat

As the first of the competitors in the 2010 challenge, Kelly and Erica
step into the arena with an edge of nervousness. Neither wants to be
the first eliminated and left on the sidelines of the long march to
the championship. At the same time, neither is going to hold back. A
decisive first win will show the rest of the field that they are
someone to be cautious about.

The two girls give one another the ceremonial nod, and then the match
begins

Erica, slighter taller than her opponent, chooses to see if Kelly will
try to get close in to attack her, but Kelly is playing it cool.
Erica fakes a quick step to her right, then suddenly back left but
Kelly is not fooled and sends a quick kick at Erica. The foot drives
into Erica’s stomach, pushing her back a few steps. Kelly advances in
on the off balance, and lands a hard group of punches to Erica’s ribs
and stomach, further knocking her off balance. But as Kelly pushes
the advantage, Erica steps back and pivots sideways, she brings
sweeping punch upwards right into Kelly’s mouth. The pain blows
through Kelly’s head and she tastes the bitter blood from her cut lip
flowing into her mouth.

Kelly shakes her head clear and wipes her mouth off with the back of
her hand, then goes after Erica with renewed fury. Kelly lands four
consecutive hits to Erica’s ribs and head, and Erica is wearing down
suddenly. Kelly pushed her advantage once more, and both women land a
string of hard blows to one other’s chest and head. Kelly too is
slowing down, but simply has more left in the tank, and with a well
aimed uppercut, drops Erica to the floor. Erica rises slowly, and her
legs look very wobbly. She tries to defend herself, but Kelly charges
in, landing several blows into Erica’s stomach. A desperate last blow
from Erica snaps Kelly’s head sideways, but the effort of that punch
makes Erica drop her defense, and Kelly tags her with a quick two hit
series that drives Erica back down to the floor, and she stays there.

Kelly stands over the nearly unconscious Erica, then walks around to
her head, grabs both of Erica’s arms and drags her across the floor to
one of the columns that decorate the perimeter of the arena. Erica is
propped up against the column, sitting against it, and Kelly pulls the
defeated woman’s arms behind the column to where a pair of shackles
bolted to the column is waiting. Two clicks later and Erica’s wrists
are shackled behind the column. She is conscious enough to know that
she is the first agent eliminated.
