Harmonyis evident in nature, and it exists in every one of us. When we humans yearn to re-balance our energy and our deeper spirit, we can find sanctuary in the natural world, but also in movement, in silent contemplation.
Or, we can celebrate the Divine spark of sound. Using the gift of our own voice, our physical presence and our breath, we can rekindle the age- old traditions of prayer and chant. Sound has mysterious restorative qualities, and we discover even more so, when we participate in expressing sound ourselves. This expands when we join together in common with others.
Come and taste a special opportunity to shift your state through embodied prayer and chant. This weekly meeting offers practices that have a powerful capacity to move our energy. Both spoken Sufi chants and sung chants more widely from the Abrahamic tradition will be offered.
Each meeting will consist of a teaching drawn from the writings from various Sufi masters and teachers, including Sidi al Jamal and Hazrat Inayat Khan, among others. There will be a time for brief individual sharing. Each class will focus on the hearts of its participants, offering chants to strengthen their own spiritual journey. Group dhikr will complete the hour.
Please let Zahra Liz know if you plan to participate so I can coordinate how much food to offer. If you do not have her contact information, you can contact Habiba Laila by emailing

A Sufi healing circle, also known as dhikr (or zikr) is a time when we gather as a community to Remember the Divine within. In dhikr, we invoke the light of God and allow it to open, clean and heal our body, mind, heart and spirit. Everyone is welcome to join these weekly community prayer and healing events.
In this new ongoing weekly class we'll explore and experience how to deepen our connection with the One more and more so that we can move through life with greater ease. It doesn't matter where each of us is on the journey - from beginner to advanced to those of us who feel like we have started and fallen off the path many times - this offering is for all of us.
The PDF files below are reproductions of the Gregorian Chant propers of the Mass in notation inspired by the Liber Usualis. These were developed for scholas and choirs of the apostolates of the Institute of Christ the King. They are free to download for use in the study and performance of sacred music.
The files are roughly organized by calendar day, which simplifies locating propers for upcoming celebrations. But please note: The indicated dates are only for organizing the files; it is absolutely necessary to consult a liturgical calendar or Ordo to determine which Mass is to be celebrated on a given day.
In a few cases, the files contain chants that might not be used on the indicated day, but are interesting for historical reasons. Unfortunately, it is not feasible to include explanatory notes in the files themselves. Chanters may find it helpful to consult the various editions of the Liber Usualis and Graduale Romanum, or ideally a Priest to indentify with certainty which chants are to be sung.
