AtWest Michigan Plastic Surgery, Kalamazoo, we offer KYBELLA to men and women struggling with extra fat below the chin because it has a high success rate. One of our providers is ready to customize a double-chin reduction plan for you to achieve the slimmer jawline you desire.
KYBELLA is FDA cleared for improving the appearance of moderate to severe submental fat. Submental fat is the concentrated area of subcutaneous fat below the chin, often referred to as a double chin. KYBELLA has the distinction of being the first injectable double-chin reduction treatment.
At the start of treatment, Dr. Holley will use a specially designed template to precisely mark the areas to be targeted during KYBELLA treatment. This ensures that double-chin reduction takes place evenly and smoothly. A small amount of KYBELLA is administered into the selected areas.
When KYBELLA is injected into the fatty tissue, the deoxycholic acid breaks apart the membrane of the fat cells. The treated cells are naturally processed and eliminated by the body in the weeks following treatment.
If you have excess fat below the chin and you are interested in non-surgical double-chin reduction, you may be a good candidate for KYBELLA. KYBELLA works best for individuals with relatively good skin elasticity because it reduces fat, but does not tighten the skin.
During your consultation, Dr. Holley or one of our expert injectors will discuss the specific concerns you have with your chin and neck, and review the details of the KYBELLA double-chin reduction treatment. He will also conduct a thorough evaluation and ask you details about your medical history, to determine if KYBELLA is the right option for you.
You will begin to see improvements after about 2 KYBELLA sessions. There will be a noticeable reduction in fat below the chin, and your jawline will be contoured and more defined. The best results are achieved after about 2-4 sessions. The results of KYBELLA can last a long time if you maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Stubborn fat beneath the chin (submental fat) can be extremely difficult to get rid of. Many men and women continue to struggle with the appearance of a double chin despite exercising regularly, eating right, and maintaining a healthy weight. While facial liposuction can help to sculpt a slimmer, well-contoured chin, not everyone is ready to undergo a surgical procedure. Dr. Diwan now offers Kybella, an injectable, FDA approved treatment that can help to finally eliminate that problem chin fat.
Kybella is a non-surgical injectable treatment that is administered beneath the chin in order to reduce stubborn double chin fat. You will have a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Diwan in order to create a personalized Kybella treatment plan. This will be based on the amount of existing fat, your natural facial contours, and your desired outcome.
When you come in for your Kybella treatment, Dr. Diwan will mark your injection sites using a specially created template. As Kybella is injected at the marked areas beneath your chin, the naturally occurring bio acid causes the fat cells to die. Over time, the destroyed fat cells are naturally eliminated from your body, leaving behind a slim, well-toned contour of your chin, jawline and neck.
Most patients are able to resume their regular activities shortly after their Kybella treatment with Dr. Diwan. You may experience some numbness or redness along your neck, but this should fade over the next few days.

Kybella is a fantastic new injectable treatment that is used to dissolve stubborn fat beneath the chin. This submental fat is what often gives the appearance of a large or double chin. Men and women who struggle with submental fat often have difficulty losing fat from that area of the face, despite a healthy lifestyle with diet and exercise.
When you come in for your Kybella treatment, Dr. Deborah Farrell will use a specially created template to pinpoint and mark the necessary injection locations along the underside of your chin. She will then use a fine-tipped needle to carefully administer Kybella into the underlying submental fat beneath the skin. Deoxycholic acid, the naturally occurring active ingredient in Kybella, works to gradually dissolve the fat cells, resulting in a beautiful and natural slimming of the chin.
Depending on your specific situation, Dr. Deborah Farrell may recommend a series of two to three Kybella treatments to achieve optimal results. You should start noticing improvements in your appearance after just one month, with ongoing results over several months as the treated fat is gradually eliminated from your body.
The Kybella Injection Consent Form is a crucial document that patients must understand and sign before undergoing Kybella treatment. This FDA-approved cosmetic injection aims to improve the appearance of submental fullness by diminishing fat cells beneath the chin. To proceed with this procedure, it's essential to be fully informed about the treatment, including potential side effects, pre- and post-care instructions, and any alternatives available. For those considering Kybella, ensure you read and understand the consent form thoroughly before signing. If you're ready to move forward, click the button below to fill out the form.
When considering Kybella injections, an essential step involves understanding and signing the Kybella Consent form, a comprehensive document that outlines the nature, purpose, and procedural details of this FDA-approved cosmetic treatment. Aimed at improving the appearance of submental fullness, commonly known as a double chin, Kybella involves a series of injections targeted at diminishing fat cells under the chin area over time, leading to a more contoured neck profile. However, results are not immediate, and the process may require several treatment sessions, with intervals of at least one month as determined by the medical provider based on the individual's specific needs. Importantly, the consent form addresses potential side effects ranging from common reactions like swelling and bruising to more serious complications such as difficulty swallowing or nerve injury. Prior to treatment, specific pre-care instructions must be followed, including restrictions on certain medications and conditions for eligibility such as not being pregnant or having a history of bleeding disorders. Post-care guidelines, emphasizing gentle care of the treated area and monitoring for adverse reactions, are crucial for a smooth recovery. The document also highlights alternatives to Kybella, underscoring the patient's choice in their treatment plan. By signing the consent form, patients acknowledge their understanding of the procedure, its risks, benefits, and the possibility that additional or alternative treatments might be necessary, thereby authorizing the proceeding of Kybella injections. This formal acknowledgment ensures patients are well-informed, contributing to their confidence and trust in the treatment process.

Kybella is a non-surgical treatment for submental (under the chin) fat. Kybella treatment is the results of nine years of study on over three thousand treatments using tiny injections into the unwanted fat. The product naturally kills the fat so the result is permanent. Kybella is a bio-identical compound called deoxycholate. Your body makes this compound and uses it to break down fat. When small concentrated amounts of deoxycholate are injected into the double chin area, a customized contouring is accomplished by killing unwanted fat cells.
The injections are done with a tiny needle so pain is minimal. The doctor is guided by a template developed in the studies to get the best results. Afterwards, as the fat cells die, patients describe a burning sensation that is easily controlled with Advil and cool compress. Swelling is expected since an inflammatory process is required to remove the dead fat. Fat reduction can continue for up to eight weeks so treatments are spaced six to eight weeks apart to allow complete removal of the destroyed fat. Multiple treatments are necessary. The amount of fat to be removed determines how many treatments are required. In general, four to six treatments can be expected.
