The new Casio HDC-700 series recently caught our eye as a very affordable G-Shock alternative that punches above its weight. This 48.8mm-wide analog-digital watch has a rugged-style exterior design that resembles a G-Shock. The front hex screws give it a high-quality look and the simple symmetrical layout provides easy readability. The features of this watch are quite impressive considering its low price. It has an a 10-year (estimated) battery, 100-meter water resistance, front LED light with afterglow, 30-record telememo (with 8-character name and 16-digit number) memory, world time, 1/100 second stopwatch, 24-hour countdown timer, and 3 daily alarms with 1 snooze alarm. The HDC-700 is a good option for a budget outdoor watch if shock protection is not a priority. The series includes three models, the black HDC-700-1AV, black and green HDC-700-3AV, and black and gold HDC-700-9AV.
