we want to inform you about the upcoming cycle of the Klaus Toepfer Fellowship Programme for Future Leaders in Nature Conservation from the Countries of Central and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia. Application to the 2020-2021 cycle is open from now on, until 10 October, 2019. We also kindly ask you to disseminate this information through your networks, and to support eligible candidates from your own institution to apply for the Klaus Toepfer Fellowship Programme.
The programme is extra-occupational and combines learning on international best conservation practice and policy with management training, network development and a transfer project. Over a period of 1.5 years, four training modules are conducted at the International Academy for Nature Conservation on the Isle of Vilm in English language. Who is eligible for participation? The Klaus Toepfer Fellowship Programme targets early-career conservation professionals in the natural resource sector, who have at least three years of professional experience, are fluent in English and preferably not older than 35 years. We look for participants with a strong leadership potential who want to broaden their understanding of conservation strategies and policies from local to global level and who are committed to play a central role in nature conservation in their home countries. Participants need to have the support of their home organizations to attend the course, and be citizens and residents of one of the eligible countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Northern Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

Целевой аудиторией программы им. Клауса Тёпфера являются уже работающие будущие руководители в сфере охраны природы (правительственных и неправительственных организаций) из стран Центральной и Восточной Европы, Кавказа и Центральной Азии, предпочтительно имеющие минимум 3 года профессионального опыта и предпочтительно не старше 35 лет. Программа рассчитана на будущие руководящие кадры в сфере охраны природы, участие которых поддерживают их работодатели, и которые четко ориентированы на работу в своей стране. Программа направлена на развитие личных способностей начинающих специалистов по охране природы, комбинируя техническое обучение с развитием управленческих навыков и помощью в налаживании контактов. Обучение проводиться на английском языке. Курс состоит из четырех десятидневных учебных модулей (общая продолжительность курса 18 мес.), и будет проходить в Международной академии охраны природы на острове Вильм в Германии.
