HERE WE MIGHT START TO EXPLORE AND UPDATE OUR MEANINGS AND
UNDERSTANDING OF TWO WORDS:
INVOLUTION
REVOLUTION
Building on this concept as a base, IDC hopes to help the next
generation of musicians and producers get their music to market. Never
before has a distributor opened it's doors to the thousands of
talented artists and musicians who work so hard to score a record
deal. The idea is that many of these people could bring a CD to
market, without the overhead of a middle man. IDC will actively
promote its services to the thousands of bands and solo artists who
have spent years trying to secure that ever-elusive "Distribution
Deal".
IDC's Mission Statement
The music business is like the ocean in many ways, there are thousands
of unexplored areas, and it seems deeper and more vast then many other
businesses, yet there are eddies and currents that force actions and
indeed opposite reactions. For most of the past 40 years, the music
business has been a very profitable enterprise. The concept of taking
someone with talent, and combining marketing, exposure, and a
"Machine" type method of distribution with the end all goal of making
"Stars" seemed to work for many years. In early 2000, many of the
rules changed with the explosion of Napster and Mp3.com. Many up-and-
coming artists used these portals to expose and showcase music to a
huge potential listening audience. Fans then became enraged with major
labels charging upwards of $18 for a new release from a favorite
artist or band, when the first CD they bought at a show, when the band
was unsigned was only $10.
Independent Distribution Collective is a type of music distribution
association that has never existed outside of the major label system
before in the United States. Although the majors have used this
business model for years with great success, it has become apparent
that the only way for independent labels to flourish in these
uncertain times is to unite and use all of the tools available to
them, to compete on the same field as the other, much larger, more
powerful players. With a marketing plan that focuses on the growth of
each label, and the collective as a whole over the next five to ten
years, full exploitation of worldwide and non-traditional sales
points, and a strong desire to succeed, IDC will allow a new
generation of music products to reach its audience, without the
downside risk of each label going it alone. Each label is an ally in
the whole process, meaning that its resources become part of the
collective's assets, and in turn when a label succeeds, the whole
collective succeeds.

Positive Sound Massive Recordings is pleased and proud to present the
long awaited follow-up to Rocker-T's 1999 smash hit "If Yu Luv Luv
Show Ya Luv" titled simply "More Luv". After two long years in the
making, and almost constant touring, Rocker-T and PSM have finally
completed what may very well be the most dynamic, conscious, reggae
release of this new year. More Luv is more then an album, it is a way
of life, and a reminder to all people that only love will heal this
world we live in.
"More Luv" starts were "Luv Luv" leaves off... Rocker ties this album
to his last by starting with a beautiful 7 minute ballad titled
"Wherever You Go, Whatever You Need". Next up is "Rainbow Country" a
song that Rocker wrote in Hawaii in early 2000, where he invites
everyone to join him on his quest for heaven on earth. "More Luv", a
sing-jay track, is an anthem to the youth to spread love to the four
corners of the world, and beyond... "Love is very lovely and war is
very ugly." "Nevashame" is a bass heavy riddim where Rocker tells all
"you could put me down but I would never be ashamed..." Next is "Bad
Wrong Sign", a warning to all false prophets and pseudo- conscious MCs
who confuse and lead people astray. "One Time Mi Locks Mi Head" is
powerful song in which Rocker chants "dem think dat God is dead... but
God no dead." The next song, "Rise Up and Stand", is another anthem
that speaks to all Rasta youth worldwide, and he urges them to join
together in these troubled times, no matter race, creed, or color.
"Tek it out Again" is a jump-up dancehall track that reminds everyone
of his message on "Luv Luv"... Indeed, he will continue to "sweep out"
until all of the slackness is gone. Next is "Jah the Only One" a mid-
tempo riddim which features Rocker's want to teach the youth that Jah
is there for everyone... "You Don't Have to Worry", a track that finds
Rocker both singing and DJing, is perhaps the most well known track on
this album. It has already had over 3000 downloads on Mp3.com over the
past year. "Joyous Works", a favorite of many audiences over the past
few years, speaks of Rocker's love to perform and to spread a
conscious message, no matter how hard the struggle might be... "My
Empress" is a beautiful song livicated to all womankind, with a hope
that the brethren never forget where we all come from. The next song,
"Kind of Man", says although he may not always be perfect, Rocker will
keep trying to better his relationships with his sisters. The final
track, "Don't Give up on Me", closes the album with a plea for the
woman he loves not to give up on him.
This album was recorded and mixed in almost a dozen studios across the
US, from Brooklyn to San Francisco, and even Mazomanie, Wisconsin...
It features productions from reggae notables including: Glenroy Adams
(Bob Marley/Upsetters,) Alex V. (Skadanks) Jah Yzer and Ces One
(Strong Foundation) and Stand Out Selector. The albums' cover is a
hand drawn masterpiece done by world renown fine artist Jah Terms.
Look for a 12" single in the spring, which will feature a remix of one
of the album's tracks as well as a brand new tune on the B-side. We
hope that you enjoy listening to this album as much as we enjoyed
making it. "More Luv" in 2004 and beyond!

Review of Jah Love
"Reggae music has seen a proliferation of compilation albums in recent
years, often featuring numerous artists singing over only on or two
riddims. Greensleeves' Rhythm Album series is one such example, having
released more than 16 such albums in the span of less than one year.
More times than not, these compilations fall flat with their
unremarkable computerized rhythms or artists whose conventional chants
and lyrics render one song indistinguishable from the next.
A big exception to this trend is the newest release from Strong
Foundation records, "Jah Love". This album features a dozen roots
artists skillfully singing and toasting over several well-rounded and
meticulously crafted drum and bass selections. After listening to just
a couple of bars from the opening track, listeners will immediately
know that the producers invested a great deal of time and energy,
giving the album its wonderful vibe.
The album contains selections by well known conscious roots performers
such as Yami Bolo, Sugar Minott, Norris Man, Rocker-Tand Daweh Congo,
along with selections by newer artists like Fiji, Ipa and Natty Bi.
Each of the singers appearing on this album obviously labored to
distinguish their song and to capture a genuine feel for that artist.
My favorite selections are Yami Bolo's "Jah Love Is Always There",
Daweh Congo's "Jah Name",and Rocker-T's "Fiyah Dem", followed closely
by the Norris Man and Ras Shiloh songs. In fact, every selection on
this album has caught my attention at some point or other, which is
why Jah Love is the very first compilation album ever to reach the
number one position on Ireggae's Top Ten. Big up to Strong Foundation
for this crucial release, and for making it available on vinyl as a
double album for the DJ massive. "

Bed on Bricks has had a fantastic 2006. They performed at both
Oppikoppi festivals, the Robertson Rocks festival and did numerous
tours to Durban and Gauteng. Their magnificent set at Oppikoppi in
August was a definite highlight. They electrified the audience,
exuding energy and skill to the very limit of the Bushveld-night, a
performance that was perfectly awesome throughout every second of
their 45 minute set. Their second album "If You See Kay" was released
in 2005 and continually draws rave reviews from fans and media alike.
The band is now currently working on material for a new album to be
released in 2007.
"Bed on Bricks is in my opinion South Africa's tightest live band at
the moment and it is no surprise that they were voted best band at
Oppikoppi 2006. Their music and performance must surely rate as world-
class and no wonder given the talent and experience of these four
seasoned musicians. Bricks is a band with gravity and an unmistakably
cool edge - watch this band fly in 2007!" Mike Joubert, Managing
Director Levi Strauss & Co SA
Bed on Bricks is without a doubt one of the best rock bands that South
Africa has delivered. Their album "If you See Kay" deserves world wide
recognition." Ilza Roggeband, Huisgenoot
2007 might also see Bed on Bricks traveling overseas, with all the
local support rating them as a world class act, we cannot wait and
will be there to welcome them back with "guys you rock!" flags at the
airport.

The seed of rebellion is slowly taking root. On the frontline stands
Blitz (b. Samuel Bazawule). With his first offering-"Soul Rebel."
Blitz provides the balance that Hip-Hop has been lacking for awhile.
Born and raised in Ghana, Blitz's first encounter with Hip-Hop was
mind-opening experience. Politically charged, writhed with an
agonizing ear for the truth-Public Enemy enthralled the young mind of
Blitz, as did the socio-political poetry of KRS-ONE. Fast forward -
New York City. Brooklyn to be exact. Placed deeply in the sounds and
sights of the music, Blitz honed his skills lyrically as an MC. Sick
of the mundane "assembly-line" nature of Hip-Hop, Blitz created his
own sound.
Taking cues from such artists as Miles Davis, Fela Kuti Mos Def, Talib
Kweli and Dead Prez - Blitz bridges the gap between the soulful sounds
of the streets and the ill-nature of politics. On his debut album, he
analyzes the stale climate of Hip-Hop, which eventually led him to
pursue higher education. Enrolling at Kent State Univesity gave Blitz
a chance to better himself, not only mentally, but musically. Meeting
with local producer and fellow student - M. Tilla - the duo
collaborated on a number of projects. The end result - a sonic
revolution - entitled "Soul Rebel." Opening for the likes of Slum
Village, Dead Prez, Boot Camp Clik, Nappy Roots and The Clipse -Blitz
- challenges the staus quo of Hip-Hop.
