From 2010 to September 2011, Juniper made six acquisitions and invested in eight companies. Often Juniper acquired early-stage startups, developing their technology, then selling it to pre-existing Juniper clients.[57] Juniper acquired two digital video companies, Ankeena Networks and Blackwave Inc., as well as wireless LAN software company Trapeze Networks.[57][83] In 2012, Juniper acquired Mykonos Software, which develops security software intended to deceive hackers already within the network perimeter.[84] and a developer of software-defined network controllers, Contrail Systems.[85] In 2014, Juniper acquired the software-defined networking (SDN) company WANDL.[86]

Microsoft is announcing the availability of an update for the Juniper Networks Windows In-Box Junos Pulse Client for Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1. The update addresses a vulnerability in the Juniper VPN client by updating the affected Juniper VPN client libraries contained in affected versions of Microsoft Windows.

On June 9, 2015, Microsoft released an update (3062760) for the Juniper Networks Windows In-Box Junos Pulse VPN client. The update addresses the vulnerability described in Juniper Security Advisory JSA29833. Customers who are not using a Juniper VPN solution are not vulnerable; however, Microsoft recommends applying the update on an all affected operating systems since the affected component is present in-box. For more information about this update, including download links, see Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 3062760.

What is the scope of the advisory?
The purpose of this advisory is to announce the availability of an update for Juniper Networks Windows In-Box Junos Pulse VPN client for Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1.

What is Juniper Networks Windows In-Box Junos Pulse Client?
Juniper Networks Windows In-Box Junos Pulse Client is a third-party VPN product that is shipped in-box as part of the Windows operating system. Windows In-Box Pulse Client appears as a VPN Provider network option within Windows 8.1 and later endpoints, including Windows RT 8.1 endpoints. It allows the user to establish a Layer 3 VPN connection to Junos Pulse Secure Access Service and to create, manage, and remove Pulse VPN connections on the Windows endpoint through Windows PowerShell scripts. The user can also create connections manually on the endpoint. Windows In-Box Junos Pulse Client provides a subset of the features that are available through the Junos Pulse for Windows client.

What is VPN?
Virtual private networks (VPNs) are point-to-point connections over a private or public intermediate network, such as the Internet, allowing users to remotely access private networks that otherwise would not be accessible from the Internet, or administrators to connect remote sites together. For more information about VPN technologies as well as how to configure them on Windows, please see What Is VPN?.

Works for 18.04, and according to: -to-pulsejuniper-vpn-with-openconnect-on-ubuntu/ on 17.04 as well, but not tested on 16.04.Notice that link has spelling errors in a command (It's nm-connection-editor and not nm-connections-editor)

update the java jre/jdk make sure thats up to date.... make sure it is enabled in the browser.... make sure it is not blocked by av.... and clear browser cache etc... blow out tmp folder... these are all places to start the trouble shooting with the juniper stuff in question....

you mention ie8, is that a new install or has he been using it for some time? We had lots of issues with ie8 and our Juniper.... they dont play so well together (atleast they didnt at the time) my next gues would be looking at the logs to see if the cert is being handled correctly.... both from the Juniper and the PC.... and check to see if that PC has a stale connection with the juniper... (one that never got closed properly) this can cause issues as well...

We have an SA 2500 appliance and had this same error. I went back and deleted the temporary folders that the juniper install makes. I also removed the application under add/remove programs. It then re-installed the application and it ran properly.

My company uses Juniper networks for vpn access. I am unable to get the juniper network connect client to work on windows 7 64-bit. It used to work before but after I formatted my system it gives the following error every time I start the vpn client

I'm trying to install the Juniper Network Connect client on Ubuntu -- I'm wondering if any seasoned network admins or otherwise knowledgeable individuals know if it's possible for me to download the client directly from a 3rd party source, or if it is mandatory that I download it from the given network's vpn website. If the latter, can you explain why?

More to the point of answering your question, Juniper wants you to get it directly from whatever system(s) you're connecting to. That way there is no confusing the correct version needed. It is not available 3rd party or from non-admin download from Juniper. Their licensing is all back-end and based on concurrent sessions. In fact, network connect was licensed separately on top of this, but I digress. Having the software is legal but you can't use it with anything else. They provide the clients in their appliance build releases and only the necessary version is included with the build. Therefore, it automatically downloads when trying to login. System admins have the ability to extract the software from the appliance and publish it. This is what I used to do. I put it up on our company's external login page, in the case that the auto-installer was blocked by the user's computer. Users could manually down and install it if they wanted to. We did have a few people who needed to login to other juniper instances not controlled by me, and their different versions of the network connect software coexisted just fine.

The Juniper Network Engineer focusses in support for Juniper network architecture, involved in implementing and providing technical support for networking topologies such as LAN, WAN as well as client internet applications. Juniper Engineers deliver on-site support for all client network hardware services.

The Juniper network engineers center on providing high-availability network structure to withstand the online and on-site information technology happenings of users and clients. Network engineers often combine with other roles, such as system network architects or systems security engineers, and work within the company or as outside advisors.

Engineers facilitate client networking services both on-site or in the field by careful documentation of best practices and network topologies. This enables an organization to maximize network performance. Juniper Engineers, as per customer or client needs, support mission-critical firewall services, thereby helping to prevent network issues before they arise.

Network engineers may also follow diverse paths within the networking field. Experienced engineers specialize in network planning and maintenance for networks and often cross over between the technical and commercial sides of a company. Next step for network engineers will be network manager role. However, they should train and direct network technicians. They can also grow in more specialized roles consist of cloud networking architects, who help companies with cloud infrastructure arrangement, and network security experts, who identify and avoid cybersecurity risk.

An issue has been identified with certain installations of the Pulse Secure Desktop client on Windows 10 workstations that significantly impact network performance. The issue does not impact all users; it appears to be limited to specific network adapters. The issue has been identified to impact some wireless/wi-fi adapters but may express itself on some wired adapters as well.
