There are now prebuilt binary packages [1] available for Ubuntu 14.04
LTS (Trusty Tahr) on the x86-64 (amd64) architecture.

Installation (and uninstallation) is documented in the wiki [2,3], but
amounts to the standard procedure for external APT package
repositories:

$ curl -s https://apt.conreality.org/keys/current.asc | sudo apt-key add -
$ sudo apt-add-repository -y 'deb http://apt.conreality.org/ubuntu
trusty main'
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install -y conreality

Binary packages for the ARMv7 (armhf) architecture and for the Debian
8.2 (Jessie) distribution are in the works [4]. Packaging remains a
manual process at present [5], so this is still slow going.

Would appreciate confirmation from Ubuntu 14.04 users that the
installation works as intended. And unless you intend to be
contributing to the system-level OCaml parts of the project,
installing binaries (specifically, the conreality-dev package) will
hereon out be the preferred way to get set-up with a Conreality
development environment.
