Hi CMS Users,

How can I run the same model 10 times at the same time?

I'm worried because if I do so, all the 10 outputs will be saved with the same name (i.e. con_file_1) in the same directory.

Best,
Felipe

Hi Felipe,

Run it using 10 different expt folders I guess. That way all expt folders will get 1 output each for example one traj_file_1.nc and con_file_1 each. This might make the processing 10x slower though.

Thanks
Shilpa

Hi Shilpa,

thanks for your tip.
But this is exactly what I wanted to avoid as each expt folder requires a nests folder with the entire oceanographic data.

It would be better if there was a flag in the command line to chose the output name.

Hi Felipe,

To avoid duplicating your nest files, you can have all of them in a single location and just link them in each expt folder.

Thanks Robin,

but how can I link my nest files to a single location.

For example, if I have:

input_directory_1
input_directory_2
input_directory_3

expt_directory_1
expt_directory_2
expt_directory_3

How can I run 'input_directory_1', 'input_directory_2' and 'input_directory_3' linked to a single expt_directory?

You have to create

input_directory_1
input_directory_2
input_directory_3

AND

expt_directory_1
expt_directory_2
expt_directory_3

But in expt_directory_2/nests, you simply link the nest files from where they are stored (probably in expt_directory_1 in this case) with "ln -s *". And you repeat that for each of your expt_dir_n folder.

Best,
