Hi,

Im trying to run CMS in Ubuntu 18.04.1 with gfortran compiler. When I type the command make, I get this issue:

mod_netcdf.f90:28:4:

 USE netcdf
    1
Fatal Error: Can't open module file ‘netcdf.mod’ for reading at (1): No existe el archivo o el directorio
compilation terminated.
../arch/mpi_compiler:24: recipe for target 'mod_netcdf.o' failed
make: *** [mod_netcdf.o] Error 1

Could be problem of the netcdf installation??

I hope someone can help me.

Best regards,

Luisa.

Hi Luisa,

After version 4.2 of Netcdf they split the C and fortran libraries into different installations. You have to install the netcdf-fortran libraries too.

I have now had to install CMS so many times (due to updating systems, new computers etc) and have an issue most times because all the dependencies get updated. In case it is useful I previously posted to the forum:

- some old notes from different installation attempts (personal notes, designed to help myself next time, no promises they will help but they might!)

https://groups.google.com/d/msg/connectivity-modeling-system-club/67kpxJTIHHo/BTRUPvZcAAAJ

- a set up kit I made the last time I installed it with a shell script that you can try and modify for your system to automate the build process

Look those over for a bit more assistance with your installation if you need it (my memory is so poor they are what I rely upon to do it each time). If you still have problems give us another message here and we'll try and help if we can.

All the best,

Bex
