Good morning all!
I have been doing simulations within the Gulf of Mexico and wanted to know if anyone had a post-processing code for the trajectory files. I am tracking particles and not allowing them to settle until the PLD date such that the particles are viable and not settling the entire simulation. I am doing this because the particle represents fish eggs that do not settle, and I want to understand general connectivity between populations. I have some specific reasons for this that are too long to explain in the question. I want to see if anyone has code or suggestions for scripts to calculate the total days a particle stays within a polygon. I then want to average all the particles' time from each source polygon. Additionally, I want to calculate the average distance a particle travels between each polygon (again without allowing them to settle). Thanks for all your help.
Respectfully,
Anthony Snead

Hi Anthony,

Your needs are specific and so you will likely have to develop the script by yourself, as most of us did. You will still find some examples of post processing in the cms-master/postproc folder.

Best,
