Hi all!
Just got out of the Elluminate session with George and Stephen this evening and they clarified a number of questions that were asked at the Tuesday meeting of the SL Cohort. The archive of the Elluminate session will be posted soon, will let you know when I have the link.
One of the questions we had in our Tuesday meetings was whether or not Second Life builds would be accepted as homework assignments if anyone in the SL Cohort was taking the class for credit. The answer from George and Stephen both was a resounding
YES. This is good news!
Perhaps as we all go through the course materials, readings, videos, etc. we can be thinking about ways to externalize our learning/knowledge in 3D, whether in models or some other form. To help us keep track of and plan those activities, there are pages on the Chilbo wiki for documenting our work.
The first page is an archive of Meeting Transcripts:
http://chilbo.wikispaces.com/SLCohortMeetingsTranscriptsThe second has a page for Second Life Activities:

Since some of us are more comfortable with creating in Second Life than others, I've started us off with a set of activities for experienced/newbie/all users, but I don't want to impose artificial restraints either. If anyone has suggestions for how we can break tasks down in ways that will accommodate everyone along a spectrum of comfort with Second Life, please share with the class. =)
Thanks all and see some of you for our next meeting in Second Life tomorrow at 6PM SLT in the Shrubbery Amphitheatre!
