Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Calypso Principal Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and support of enterprise trading and capital markets solutions built on the Calypso platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Calypso architecture, Java development, financial products, and enterprise integration, with the ability to drive technical strategy and mentor engineering teams.

Required Skills

·       10+ years of software development experience with at least 5+ years of hands-on Calypso development.

·       Strong expertise in Calypso Trading Platform (Front Office, Middle Office, and Back Office).

·       Excellent programming skills in Java, Spring Boot, and Core Java.

·       Strong knowledge of capital markets, fixed income, derivatives, FX, equities, and trade lifecycle.

·       Experience customizing Calypso workflows, pricing engines, trade processing, and reporting.

·       Strong understanding of Calypso architecture, scheduled tasks, event engine, and APIs.

·       Experience with Oracle or SQL Server databases and advanced SQL/PLSQL.

·       Hands-on experience with REST/SOAP web services and enterprise integration.

·       Experience with messaging technologies such as IBM MQ, Kafka, or JMS.

·       Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.

·       Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus.

·       Experience with Git, Jenkins, Maven, and CI/CD pipelines.

·       Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Preferred Skills

·       Experience with Calypso upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning.

·       Knowledge of DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code.

·       Exposure to regulatory reporting and financial compliance requirements.

·       Experience in investment banking or financial services environments.

·       Calypso certification is a plus.

Roles & Responsibilities

·       Design and develop scalable solutions on the Calypso platform.

·       Lead architecture, design reviews, and technical decision-making for Calypso applications.

·       Customize Calypso modules, workflows, pricing, and trade processing components.

·       Develop and maintain integrations with upstream and downstream systems.

·       Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.

·       Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide technical leadership during incident resolution.

·       Collaborate with business analysts, traders, operations teams, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

·       Mentor and guide development teams by promoting coding standards and best practices.

·       Support software releases, deployments, and production environments.

·       Participate in architecture planning, modernization initiatives, and cloud migration efforts.

Nice to Have

·       Experience with Python or Scala for automation and analytics.

·       Knowledge of market risk, credit risk, and collateral management.

·       Experience with event-driven architectures and microservices.

·       Financial industry certifications are an added advantage.

Education

·       Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
