Greetings, we in RNESU are thinking of fun things we can do with VoiceThread that are community-oriented. In your opinion(s), do you think VT would work well for a virtual walking tour through town? Student's could either be photographed in front of buildings of interest or have a photo of the building to share in VT. They would provide an audio history of the building; how it came to be, what it was used for (if an older building), what is it used for now. I picture the building photo overlaid on a town map showing it's location. Students could invite comments from community members and present store owners. It would be fun to have something like that on the town website.

Looking for feedback. Maybe you've been there and done that and have advice for how to coordinate such an undertaking.

Appreciatively,

I think it is a great idea. What a nice way to involve the students with the community.

What a good way for kids to learn about other towns in the state!
