I'm using
crazydomains.com.au because they're cheap ;-)
People tell me that
hover.com (hoover?) are good.
Don't use
godaddy.com, people frequently report bad things about them.

Domain names are always leased, no-one ever 'owns' their name. Leases are
usually 2 years. You can expect to pay about $20 a year.

What about DNS hosting? The registration of your name may not include
hosting, you might want both to be provided by the same company, or you
might wish to separate them. I personally separate them and host the DNS
myself.
zoneedit.com provides free DNS hosting if your site is not very
busy. A friend of mine uses AWS.
As for e-mail and web hosting I'm not sure, I run my own services on a VPS.
I rent my VPS from
prgmr.com, but if you want to set it up quickly
prgmr.com
may not be able to help, they're going through an infrastructure move so the
support queue is pretty long at the moment. It's also worth checking out
AWS for this, especially if you fit in the free usage tier.
It's smart to avoid running your own services if you can, in general, keep
it simple.
Ciao.
