Hi All,

Yes it's that time again. The CCHS 3D Printing night will soon be upon us.

Date/Time: Monday October 15th, 6pm till 10pm.

As always, people interested in 3D printing, and those with 3D
printers welcome. If you have a printer, you're welcome to bring it
along on the night, but no problem if you can't bring it or don't have
one.

Things of note:
John seems to have the Prusa up and running after another issue with the extruder gearbox (broken motor gear).
The Prusa heated bed may need a rework at some stage so that it can be properly levelled (not a simple change, as there are bolts in the way that cause issues, so needs real work).
There will be more discussion of lost wax style PLA casting, possibly making a cast for the above constantly breaking motor gear.
Bob Powers has been playing with LinuxCNC and the little 3 axis mill (and I believe is looking at the emc2arduino project). Am sure he'll update us in due course.

Yep, I'm looking in to a variety of options for CNC control and use because our current mill is just that final 1% unreliable and has that final 1% too high of barrier to entry. Fellow investigators willing to bumble along with me are welcome!

I'm aiming to have it to a point in the next month-to-6 weeks where I'm comfortable doing a small workshop with some example projects to hopefully get people interested in using the mill. More on that to follow.

I will keep the wiki updated with any progress and am looking forward to contributing some effort towards the group pulling off the Arduino miniconf as I understand they are also invested in these ideas.

Hopefully I'll make it Monday, but we'll see how I pull up following the Melbourne Marathon on Sunday : )

Thanks,
Bob
