The Automated Systems Engineer needs understanding of web technologies. The AS Engineer performs Configuration Management duties on a rotating basis. Configuration Management is focused on providing and maintaining a stable environment for multiple development teams to be successful in delivering quality code in a timely manner. This is an advanced position requiring superb diagnostic and development skills. The desired work schedule is 7:00am to 4:00pm or 8:00-5:00 Monday through Friday. One Saturday a month is also required and will be required to participate in an on call rotation. The Automated Systems Engineer reports to the Manager, Automated Systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Actively contribute to ongoing process improvement to help streamline the development life cycle.
* Build, deploy and monitor internal/external environments.
* Develop new automation application tools and maintain existing automation tools.
* Responsible for the design and execution of automated scripts (regression, performance, load).
* Master Bond Desk applications and tools, backfill the manual test effort.
* Report all encountered defects to development and verify that defects have been corrected.
* Keep abreast of changes in browser capabilities and multimedia development standards.
* Tracking of time for future resource estimation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* BE/BS degree in related field; AA Degree with 2-3 years equivalent proven experience in distributed applications.
* Industry/field job experience
* Scripting knowledge (Perl, UNIX Shell, and/or Windows batch preferred).
* A basic understanding of HTML, Javascript, and CSS.
* Experience with object oriented languages such as C++,Java, C#, and/or VB is a plus.
* Willing to work some evenings or weekends for production code deployments.
* Source Control knowledge (PVCS, VSS, Svn, Git, Visual Studio Team Foundation Server, etc).
* Knowledge of SQL (PL/SQL is a plus)
* Ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
* Ability to thrive on a focused, high-energy team in a fast-paced environment as a team player.
* Communication skills capable of supporting complex systems.
* Exceptional diagnostic ability; capable of researching and resolving problems with little assistance.
* System knowledge (Solaris/Redhat/Windows).
* Network knowledge (TCP/IP).
* Database knowledge (Oracle/sqlplus,Toad).
