I have been scratching my head for the past 2 days to install monodevelop on my arch. the developers maintain it really well for ubuntu and debian, but i have no clue why they pay no attention to arch.
I tried to install the outdated package in AUR ( -stable/)

The I found flatpak installer for monodevelop on their repository. (yet again, outdated)
the installer was pointing to the non existing sdk.gnome.org repository, i manually switched it to the nightly repository.
Now it fails because it needs the runtime org.freedesktop.Sdk/x86_64/1.4 but the one on the repository is org.freedesktop.Sdk/x86_64/1.6

Any help toward installing monodevelop would be highly appreciated. (in the worst case scenario i have no problem compiling the source if there is any, i haven't looked that one up yet. but as mentioned, dependecies are missing, that's why i didn't look this option up)

I have used this accepted answer to install Mono 5.2.0 to the Raspberry Pi 3. But I don't know how to install monodevelop or other ide to the Rpi3, because sudo apt-get install monodevelop doesn't work anymore because of those settings in the accepted answer. Any idea?

If you want to return back to MonoDevelop, be sure that Mono is installed. Then you need to go to Unity, click on Edit --> Preferences and then select external tools you can change it to MonoDev. Probably you need to restart Unity. -monodevelop-for-unity-5.html

I just downloaded Godot 3.0 beta 1 mono and wanted to test some C# on the engine.
Since Visual Studio is apparently not supported yet, I opted for MonoDevelop and the site led me to download Xamarin Studio instead--I'm on Windows 10. In Godot, I changed Mono > Editor > External Editor from "None" to "MonoDevelop", but when I click on my .cs files inside the engine, it outputs
ERROR: MonoDevelopInstance::execute: Method/Function Failed.
At: modules\mono\editor\monodevelop_instance.cpp:48
Help would be greatly appreciated.
