Update: I've applied a few fixes, including one that resolves the issue with importing a record from Z39.50.
Note that the staff client likes to keep previous versions of the HTML and JavaScript loaded, which can prevent fixes from being applied. To force your web browser to load a new version of the staff client in Firefox and Chrome, you can:
1. press F12 (or CTRL-Shift-I) - the browser developer tools panel opens
2. click the Network tab
3. ensure the "Disable cache" checkbox is checked
4. click the "Reload" icon next to the browser address
