When I try to do an expert search and limit it to search Algoma University, Wishart Library it still brings up items at the J.N. Desmarais Library. Is there any way to have the system only return Algoma U items?

Hi Mark,

Try changing it to Algoma System rather than Algoma University...

I could be wrong.

Hi Mark:

Are you searching the public catalogue, or within the staff client?

Within the staff client, you will see results from across Conifer because it is based on the assumption that we're sharing MARC records & thus might just want to add a copy to an existing MARC record that was added by a different consortial member.

For the public catalogue, I tried an expert search (245 subfield a) for a book that I know is held only by Laurentian from Algoma's public catalogue, scoped to Wishart Library, and it turns up no results:  https://algoma.concat.ca/eg/opac/results?_special=1&detail_record_view=0&tag=245&subfield=a&term=Apache+Derby+%3A&locg=124

When I change the search library to J.N. Desmarais Library, I get the one expected result: https://algoma.concat.ca/eg/opac/results?_special=1&detail_record_view=0&tag=245&subfield=a&term=Apache+Derby+%3A&locg=103

I was using the expert search function in the public catalogue. I've copied what I did and one of the results that show up.

Can you share the URL that you used to create that set of search results? I can't see what options you used to generate those results.

Heh, no, I mean the URL after you hit "Submit" on the Search... that will include the exact parameters that you defined so that I can reproduce your search :)

Thanks Mark. Unfortunately I can't reproduce your results with that link; instead of 778 results, I get 533, and they're all showing copies in the Algoma System. (Screenshot below).

I'm wondering if you might be logged into the staff client in another tab in your browser, and that's why you're still seeing results from across the Conifer system. Could you try opening that same link in an Incognito Tab (Chrome) or Private Window (Firefox)?
