He was regarded as the leader of the saints (sultan al-awliya) and agreat Sufi of his time. The title al-Eidrus means the one who is head ofthe Ulama and Awliya. The Shaykh was born in the year 811 Hijri. Hisfather Imam Abu Bakr al-Sakran was a major scholar; hence he learnt andtook the knowledge of inward and outward sciences from him. He travelledto the Haramayn and took the knowledge of Hadith from many scholars.His students include Shaykh Ali ibn Abi Bakr, Shaykh Muhammad ibn Afifal-Hajrani and others. The respected Shaykh has many advices (wasaya)and writings in the science of Tasawwuf. May Allah have mercy on hissoul.
