You just need to print out the ones you want and color them. (Although some that are in the list come already colored in!) I was trying to be mindful of what would match up on the blank template so I could make really cool designs when turning the flextangle.

So for this tutorial I included two templates: Emoji Template and the Blank Template. If you decide to use the blank template I have also included an image below that should help guide you in your design. See below for more info.

So the first step is to print out the template. For this tutorial I will be using the emoji template. You can print it on regular paper but I like the way cardstock feels and it is a little sturdier. But the choice is yours.

But if you decide to use the blank template use the image above as a guide as to where your images go. All the individual colored dot denote one side (e.g. all the red dots are one side, all the green dots are one side etc) and it also tells you how to place your image. The placement of the dots is where, once assembled, the center point of each side is. So keep that in mind as you are designing each of the four sides of the flextangle.

I think this is cute and a great teaching tool. I am unable to download this template, like I have done on the other crafts. Is it no longer available? I wanted to do this with my granddaughter, she loves butterflies.

Making a Flextangle integrates art, math, origami and even some SEL. This is a great way to add a little creativity in your teaching and allow students to create their own unique flextangle in the classroom or at home!

Flexagons? What a great way to play with geometry. Kids use the provided template to transform a plain G sheet into a solid G paper toy. The resource even comes with an instructional video and illustrations.

Now for some fun printables! I have a couple of fun printables to share with you today. The first is the flextangle template and the other is a collection of color pages and activity sheets courtesy of Disney! Just click on the image below to open the activity sheets in a new window where you can print or save them to your computer.

Sea Turtle Life Cycle Flextangles are a fun way to learn about life cycles! As you rotate the flextangle you can watch a sea turtle go from eggs, to a hatchling, to a juvenile turtle and then to adulthood.

A flextangle (known as a kaleidocycle) can be used as a breathing and calming tool to help students relax and be more mindful. As students calmly and gently rotate the flextangle with their hands and fingers. You can ask students to take deep breaths, if they are comfortable doing so, while they concentrate on the incredible patterns they create.

Students will follow the following flextangle worksheet to create their own flextangle. Have students follow the letter format given, in order to accordingly colour in their flextangle. Then, students will cut out their template, fold and glue it together.
