Hi. Not sure if posting in the correct place.
This is a great app for garmin
But the new timeout value introduced in v1.6 is not working for me.
No error, no app exit either
My json, after schema, reads:

192.168.1.145 is a private LAN IP address not accessible from the public Internet. This means it will only work on your private LAN. If you want this URL to work from anywhere, you need to setup your Home Assistant to be operable publically and supply the correct public domain name or IP address. Are you using mobile data to access this URL? Try you local LAN Wi-Fi instead.

Another question. I know the app requires a purchase of $6.50 or so for full functionality. Am I able to store the files on my phone and upload to Garmin connect when I get home from a trip just utilizing the free functionality of the app, or am I going to need to purchase the full app to get the data on garmin connect?

Hi, just to clarify is it possible to use the ant+ device with my garmin forerunner 410 with my ipad? I cant see it listed but its now a watch that is discontinued. Just need to know before I swap it out for the nike gps one.
Thanks!

Reason is that I want to upload my rides to Endomondo, but for that I need to get access to the files on the Edge either via USB or bluetooth, as the Garmin Connect app only upload to GC and garminsync do not support syncing with Endomondo due to their lack of an open API.

you then upload FIT file from the card to the software (via laptop) and save as a GPX which you can then transfer to garmin/strava. You can do a lot more with software but default settings should be fine.

I have an Android 4.0 tablet which I want to use with a garmin 200/500 . can I simply use the garmin as a usb mass storage unit ( in the same way as a camera) .
if not what else would i need to transfer ride date form the garmin to the tablet and then onto strava.
I intend to take the tablet and garmin on a training camp and want to be able to record rides while i am there.
cheers
Adam

Whilst I have access to all 3 domains (web, mobile, windows app), I use them in different ways (the web portal is dismal and rarely used). To anyone analysing usage stats - you'll probably see every Windows user also has mobile or web access, but that doesn't mean Windows app support can be dumped without impacting users.

@D.mo I looked at your public profile and see that you are a long time Fitbit user. I understand why this change is bothersome. I hope a little historical perspective might help. Fitbit stopped updating the Windows 10 app in 2019, about the same time Windows stopped making phones. Some time in 2020, Fitbit changed things more when you had to use Android or iOS to set up a new device. Windows 10 users could still sync their Fitbits. It's my opinion that this was a quirk and not part of Fitbit's long range plan. Fitbit deactivated Fitbit Connect at the same time. But Fitbit stopped making devices compatible with Fitbit Connect before changing Windows 10 compatibility. Fitbit's newest features are only on the mobile app. I don't use a PC, do I don't know if Fitbit had some Premium features on the Windows 10 app. All Premium features that were on the web dashboard got moved to the mobile app. Any Fitbit/Google watcher can see that the direction is a to a mobile platform.

Thanks for the detailed information and the steps tried on your own. As it was mentioned, let me share that the Fitbit app for Windows phone and computers was discontinued back in October 2022. While I understand some of you were able to use it after that, this app is no longer available to install and it's recommended to use a compatible mobile device in order to sync your Fitbit device and use its features.

Whether you are a hard-core runner, endurance athlete, or a casual gym-goer, Garmin has a fitness watch for you. The company produces some of the best fitness and GPS watches on the market. Like most watch manufacturers, Garmin bundles its watches with a mobile app that lets you monitor your health and wellness. The app also syncs with your watch and can be used to configure the core settings.

This process will wipe all the data from your watch. Make sure you have a backup of your data by syncing your watch with the mobile app. After you have reset the watch, you can use the Garmin mobile app to connect to your watch and configure it correctly this time.

The other big update was that during the last month I redesigned the layout of the homepage - making it more coherent, exchanging many wordpress plugins that had aged/developped bugs with newer PHP versions - and made a more coherent website layout. I left the overall colour scheme of the website but harmonized many elements, removed many CSS bugs in the theme and some plugins - as well as correct some problems for mobile users. Also finally changed the SSL certificate to Let's Encrypt (I had bought just another 3 year multi domain certificate 3 years ago - as Let's encrypt has no multi domain certificates - and some very old browsers like Internet Explorer on Windows XP were not compatible with SNI - meaning running multiple SSL secured domains from the same IP address using different certificates for each website. However by now there is really no one using those browsers anymore - 3 years ago it was already less than 1% of my visitors and Windws XP is really dead).

Satellite phones are a game-changer for individuals who venture into remote areas that traditional mobile networks can't reach. Unlike standard smartphones that rely on cellular networks, satellite phones maintain communication by connecting directly to orbiting satellites. This capability makes them invaluable in scenarios where maintaining contact is crucial, yet challenging due to the lack of cellular coverage.

This mobile satellite router connects to the Iridium satellite constellation, and you get enough data bandwidth to check emails, use Twitter, pull up weather forecasts, and limited web browsing. You can connect up to five devices to the Iridium Go! hotspot. And this is what I like about this setup -- you unbox it, power it up, let it see the sky, and then it acts much like a Wi-Fi router that would might have at your office.

A satellite phone is a mobile device that uses satellites to communicate instead of cell towers. The primary function of a satellite phone is to make and receive calls and SMS messages from virtually anywhere in the world, including remote areas without cell coverage.

Sometimes you don't have a computer nearby, but you can still do it without one! First, ensure that you can open the GPX on your mobile device. For example, email it to yourself or send it via WhatsApp. From your email or WhatsApp on your phone, tap the icon (iOS) and open the file in the Connect app. Simply save it, and you're good to go.
