Exotic" is the second single by Indian recording artist Priyanka Chopra, featuring American rapper Pitbull. The song was released as a single by Interscope Records on July 9, 2013. "Exotic" was written by Chopra, Pitbull and RedOne, who also produced the song. It contains both English and Hindi lyrics.

The single debuted and peaked on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Songs at No. 12 and on Dance/Electronic Digital Songs at No. 16. The single also debuted and peaked on the Canadian Hot 100 at No. 74. The song was selected as the official theme song of Guinness International Champion Cup 2013.[1] The accompanying music video for "Exotic" was filmed in Miami and was released on July 11, 2013.

Amy Sciarretto from 105.7 FM ("PopCrush 105.7") generally gave the song a positive review ahead of the release of the music video, saying "[the song] has quite the Indian flair and flavor, something the singer [Chopra] wanted to celebrate."[5]

"Exotic" was released on 9 July 2013. "Exotic" debuted at No. 16 on Billboard's Dance/Electronic Songs chart and No. 11 on the Dance/Electronic Digital Songs chart in the 27 July 2013 issue, but failed to chart on the Hot 100.[6][7] The single also debuted at No. 74 on the Canadian Hot 100.[8] "Exotic" has witnessed over 300,000 cumulative physical plus digital sales in India.[9]

Shot in South Beach, Miami, the accompanying music video for "Exotic", directed by Emil Nava,[10] shows Chopra wearing a monokini in the ocean as well as scenes with Pitbull filmed in a mansion and outdoor scenes in a forest. Chopra spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the music video for "Exotic," saying: "It's exotic! According to me, exotic is beaches and sun and dancing. It's a summer song, a summer anthem. It's really about feeling hot and sexy. I am from Mumbai; Pitbull is from Cuba -- and we meet in Miami."[3] In an interview with Katie Van Buren of Fuse on 15 August 2013, Chopra showed how to do some of the Bollywood-inspired dance moves that are featured in the music video, including the thumka and Bollywood-inspired hand motions.[11] Chopra jokingly called this move "the Priyanka", commenting "it's not narcissistic at all!"[11] Writer Jeff Benjamin from Fuse commented, "the accompanying music video features Chopra busting out super-sexy Indian dance moves" and concluded, "it's all about the hips."[11]

Amy Sciarretto from 105.7 FM ("PopCrush 105.7") gave the video a more positive review, commenting that Chopra looks "breathtakingly hot in a nude-hued bathing suit"[5] as she "whips her soaking wet hair back and forth and gives off a smoldering stare".[5] Sciarretto also comments that "watching her cool off by taking a dip in the water will certainly make the viewer work up a sweat." As of now it has acquired over 100 million views.[5]

When a fast-rising new artist has one of their songs used as the theme song for a major sporting event, that would typically be a positive experience. Unfortunately, that was not totally the case for world-famous actress, producer, and singer Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

During a recent interview with CNN anchor Chris Wallace, Chopra Jonas opened up about the racist response the NFL Network received from fans as a result of their decision to use her song for the Thursday Night Football theme.

Simi Garewal responded to a social media user who called Priyanka Chopra's song for her father 'drama'. Taking to Instagram on Friday, Simi Garewal shared a clip from an episode of her 2012 show India's Most Desirable where Priyanka was a guest. In the clip, Priyanka held a mic and said, "This is for my daddy." She then sang Mariah Carey's 1993 song Hero. Simi captioned the post, "India's Most Desirable Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Her dad's dream for her was that she should become an international singer. She exceeded it by becoming a super global star! But seriously, with that voice don't you think Priyanka and Nick should cut a duet? I think it would rock!!"

Simi also commented, "Never 'forget fighting' for your honour. You had the courage to defend your values - and yourself. I wish you continued strength to live your life on your terms. I wish you peace of mind. I wish you daily joys. You are a true hero. Believe it! (smiling face with halo emoji)."

Fans recently saw Priyanka in Citadel, which was created by The Russo Brothers. The action-packed show revolves around two elite agents Mason Kane (Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka) of the global spy agency Citadel. She will next be seen with John Cena and Idris Elba in Heads Of State. Filmmaker Ilya Naishuller is directing off a script by Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec, with an initial draft by Harrison Query.

Priyanka will also be seen with Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif in Jee Le Zaraa. The film will be directed by Farhan Akhtar. The shoot has not started yet and there are some unconfirmed rumours of Priyanka quitting the project.

It's easy to see why Nick Jonas was burnin' up with passion after watching Priyanka Chopra Jonas wear an elegant dress at the Citadel premiere in London -- and the singer had the perfect song to commemorate the occasion.

The Jonas Brothers crooner posted a TikTok video on Tuesday showing Priyanka posing for photographers in different settings for the Prime Video series' U.K. premiere. Nick snuck in a quick selfie video in which he raises his eyebrows in approval, as his wife poses to the delight of a throng of photographers.

ET's Ash Crossan was on the carpet at the London premiere, and she chatted with Priyanka about her husband's on-point chic style that was very appropriate when it came to the classy spy thriller's star-studded screening.

Back in April 2021, Nick opened up about that particular red dress lyric during a Reddit AMA session, after a fan asked, "I see a couple tweets a year about your infamous 'RED DREeEeSS' on Burnin Up. Did you have any idea recording that line that it would have the impact it did?"

Nick responded, "I knew something felt good inside my soul when I recorded that line, but I couldn't have anticipated that it would affect people the way it has in the past 13 years. Can't wait to get back on stage and hear the crowd sing it back to me sometime soon in the future."

Fans naturally geeked out at Nick choosing "Burnin' Up" as the soundtrack to his TikTok video. One fan commented in the post, "Nick won the internet today ?." Another fan added, "I mean I would scream Red Dress if I saw her in that too Nick ?."

Maybe so. I do not know her so I cannot defend this completely. BUT, take our very own Indian film-maker Farhan Akhtar as an example. The man started off his career as a director. Once he established himself as a good filmmaker, he moved on to the role of a producer and after backing a volley of hits, he explored his interest in acting. Finally, he moved onto singing and song-writing.

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra are one of the most popular couples in the world today. In 2016, the stars began to align for the lovebirds when Jonas slid into Chopra's Twitter DMs. He told Vogue he opened with, "I'm hearing from a few mutual friends that we should meet," to which she replied, "My team can read this. Why don't you just text me?" They stayed in touch until their paths crossed at the 2017 Vanity Fair Oscars after-party, and Jonas already seemed smitten as he jokingly got down on one knee and asked her where she'd been all his life.

Shortly after, the two walked the Met Gala red carpet as friends. His brother Joe Jonas described Nick's lovesick condition to Vogue, "He was just this little puppy dog," he added. "And Sophie and I were just laughing at him. He's sitting on the floor and we're like, 'Look at this little smitten, drunk kid right now.'" However, Chopra and Nick's lives would keep them apart for a year until they'd meet again in May 2018 at the Met Gala.

In their first album post-hiatus, "Happiness Begins," Nick co-wrote a song called "I Believe," which ties in quite well with their romance. "Well, call me crazy / And people saying that we move too fast" is a lyric that aligns with the fast-moving nature of their relationship, which many would call crazy.

The jam could also allude to the people who have responded negatively to the romance because of their ten-year age gap and the couple's choice to ignore them to protect their love. Nick told Apple Music (via Harper's Bazaar) that the song was a "love letter to his wife." His brother Joe added, "We listened to it a lot on your bachelor party. It sounds even better by the beach." And if you think that's romantic, you're not prepared for the songs he wrote for her in his solo project.

In 2021, Nick Jonas released "Spaceman," his first solo album since the Jonas Brothers reunion. It was an album that came out of feelings of isolation due to the pandemic and maintaining a long-distance relationship with Priyanka Chopra. In an interview with SiriusXM, he confirmed that the track "This Is Heaven" is about Chopra by saying, "[It] touches on that feeling of being reunited with your person. For context, Pri went to shoot in Germany for a couple of months while I was in LA working on the album."

He continued, "So, that distance really settled in. And then, when we finally were back together after this time apart, I went back in and wrote this song with Greg Kurstin . . . It was meant to encapsulate that euphoric feeling of being with your person." Another song on the album that ties in perfectly with their love is "If I Fall."

The lyrics, "I remember talking on the first night / Chilled me to the bone 'cause I realized / Everything before was a waste of time," seem to be a reference to Jonas feeling swept off his feet when he met Chopra for the first time. In fact, he told Vogue that right after his first text exchange with her, he messaged actor Graham Rogers to say, "Priyanka. Is. Wow." Some other sweet love songs on "Spaceman" that are most likely about Chopra include "Death Do Us Part" and "Deeper Love."
