A hybrid is a Sim who has more than one life state, for example, a vampire-alien. These hybrids can bring a new dimension to the game, adding new difficulties and advantages. Just like The Sims 2, The Sims 3 does contain some forms of hybrids such as ghost-vampires. These hybrids only occur when a non-occult such as a ghost combine with an occult such as a vampire. Temporary life states such as zombies can also mix with almost any occult Sim, although there are some exceptions.
Zombie-Ghost: In a sense, this hybrid existed in Livin' Large, but was not controllable. The zombie life state was gained when a Sim died but was resurrected by the Grim Reaper as a zombie. With Makin' Magic, this "hybrid" could be controlled when a zombie casts the "Shed Your Skin" charm. The charm allows a Sim to turn into a controllable ghost for a period of time. This hybrid is essentially the same as a normal Sim who has cast the "Shed Your Skin" charm, as a zombie in The Sims is a Sim with a special skin tone and no personality points. The Sim will be able to go through certain objects and talk to other ghosts, but cannot go through walls.
The Alien life state is just a skin tone and different genetics - therefore it can be coupled with any other life state that a normal Sim can be transformed into. This usually results in the creature having a different color skin tone; for example, a vampire-alien hybrid will have a turquoise skin tone. Since a normal Sim cannot become a Servo or Bigfoot, an Alien-Servo or Alien-Bigfoot is not possible.
The Mannequin life state is just a hidden skin tone and different genetics - therefore it can be coupled with any other life state that a normal Sim can be transformed into. This usually results in the creature having a different color skin tone; for example, a vampire-mannequin hybrid will have a pale bluish grey skin tone. Since a normal Sim cannot become a Servo or Bigfoot, a Mannequin-Servo or Mannequin-Bigfoot is not possible.
This life state also causes some glitches. Upon trasforming into a werewolf, vampire's teeth will get lost and won't return upon transforming back into a vampire, additionaly, there's a rare chance that the icon will show Sim in a neutral "T-Pose".
Hybrids created this way will have visible abilities of all the lifestates: A visible PlantSim skin covered with blue-ish vampire color and witch's yellow dots, their icons will show Sims in a zombie poses and the Sim will walk like a zombie, and finally during the night, the Sim will start to walk and behave like a werewolf.
However, this hybrid combination will also cause some glitches, as the Sim will show multiple idle animations at once, causing sound glitches, the Sim will lose vampire teeth when transforming into a werewolf and can have a T-pose icon, also the werewolf transformation will not be visible other than showing werewolf behavior.
In The Sims 3, occult life states are deliberately programmed to be mutually exclusive. A Sim should, in theory, only ever have one occult status. EA programmed the game so that hybrids with anything other than the ghost life state - which is not handled as "occult" but has its own set of coding - should be impossible. However, numerous glitches and oversights in the code allow glitched Sims that some players regard as hybrids. These Sims are often safe to play, but not well-supported by the game's coding, and should be made with caution. Preliminary evidence suggests that zombies in The Sims 3: Supernatural are coded more similarly to ghosts than to occult life states, as the zombie life state can be overlaid upon the werewolf or fairy life state.[1] It has been reported that when two supernatural creatures in Supernatural, such as a werewolf and a vampire, have a child, the child will be born as either a vampire or a werewolf rather than as a hybrid. Hybrids may be easily created using NRaas Master Controller. In addition, NRaas Hybrid mod can be installed to fix issues that can occur with hybrid combinations that are normally not allowed in the game.
Additionally, with Alien DNA percentage being tracked independently of any occult states, Imaginary Friends made real being treated by the game as non-occult, and some permanent occult states (e.g. fairy) being easy to combine with temporary zombie and Tragic Sim states, it is possible with hybrids of 4 or more species, even if they aren't all strictly treated as occult.
Fairies are Sims that can fly and perform magical tricks introduced in The Sims 3: Supernatural. A Sim can become a fairy by drinking the "Bottled Blessing of the Fae" elixir, or by a special opportunity.
Werewolves are Sims who can transform into wolf-like form and howl at the moon introduced in The Sims 3: Supernatural. A Sim can become a Werewolf by drinking the "Bottled Curse of the Lycan" elixir or genetics. Sims could also ask a werewolf to "Receive the Werewolf Curse".
The PlantSim is a life state included with The Sims 3: University Life. PlantSims cannot get pregnant. They can produce a Forbidden Fruit seed, plant it, grow it, and pick the fully grown fruit. Picking a fully grown Forbidden Fruit has a 50% chance of producing a PlantSim baby.
Mods exist that allow PlantSims to undergo a normal pregnancy. If a vampire and a PlantSim try for a baby, there is a chance the baby will be a vampire-PlantSim hybrid. The hybrid will have all PlantSim and vampire abilities. However, they are not weakened by the sun like pure-bred vampires. These hybrids have the same aging as vampires and glow slightly. Although the hybrid can drink from other Sims and turn them into vampires, they have a PlantSim's needs meaning they don't have to eat.
Zombies are cursed Sims randomly spawned during full moon of the lunar cycle. A Sim can become a zombie by drinking 'Zombified' elixir or getting bitten. This life state was introduced in The Sims 3: Supernatural.
In The Sims 3, it was possible to create a Grim Reaper hybrid, since Sims could use the "Try for Baby" interaction with the Grim Reaper. The resulting Sim would be completely black, lacking any skin tone data. This was removed in Patch 2. It is the only example of an 'accidental' life state due to programming error.
Hybrids appear in The Sims 4. Since few supernatural life states have been added so far, the possibilities for hybrids are limited. Temporary life states like PlantSim or Skeleton are also available to all hybrids.
Any Sim, as well as all before-mentioned hybrids, can become a ghost after dying, thus adding the ghost life state to them, making vampire-ghosts, alien-ghosts etc. Even though Servos produce a tombstone if they die, they do not turn into ghosts. However, they can be turned into ghosts by using the Whispering Wishing Well.

Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.89.214.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have a half human, half werewolf with the "dormant wolf" trait become a vampire. Then have a baby with another full blooded vampire until you get a werewolf offspring by change. I got mine on the third baby and boy was she broken.
What happens when the bug occurs? My half werewolf, half vampire sim was broken when she was a toddler. She had an alternate form and when clicked on, her face and body were distorted and she was fully black with bright red eyes. When I aged her up to a teen her needs were all messed up and she basically had half werewolf needs and half vampire needs. When I tried to do her outfits in CAS everytime I would finish and save she would reset and look complete different in live mode. Her alternate form was also completely broken. Ever since then that save file has been broken and crashes constantly.
What do you expect to see? An update for the wolf pack specifically.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No
Screenshot (14) is of her abilities screen being shown as werewolf. Screenshot (18) is of her needs and how completely broken it is. Screenshot (17) is of her alternate form because it will not let me click on it.
I don't work or have any association with EA. I give advice to the best of my knowledge and cannot be held responsible for any damage done to your computer/game.
Please only contact me via PM when asked to do so.
Due to both sims being vampires, the vampire life state is applied. But then after, vampire + dormant wolf part is run, which may re-add vampire life state or add werewolf life state, resulting in a hybrid.

How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.77.131.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? EP: Get to Work, Cats and Dogs, Seasons, Get Famous, Island Living, Discover University, Eco Lifestyle, Cottage Living, Growing Together; GP: Outdoor Retreat, Vampires, Parenthood, Jungle Adventure, Realm of Magic, Dream Home Decorator, Werewolves; SP: Tiny Living Stuff, Nifty Knitting Stuff, Paranormal Stuff; Kit: Desert Luxe
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Let two sims, who are different types of occults, have a child. (Possibly one being a vampire might be a problem).
What happens when the bug occurs? Pretty often the child will have skills from both parents, for example being a spellcaster in CAS but with the vampire skill tree in live mode. As the sim gets older they get more and more bugged.
What do you expect to see? The game to pick one type of occult for the child when it is born, so no hybrids.
