Multi Kafka Clusters in Confluent

Hi All, 

I am wondering if anyone has answer to my question below in either free or commercial version of Confluent platform. 

• At what level, multi-tenancy is supported? 
  

1. Does customer need multiple cluster of Kafka to support Multiple tenants whose needs are separate and isolated?
2. Can customer install multiple Kafka clusters on a "Single Confluent Platform" to provide service to tenants on cluster per tenant base?

Hi Bayar,

There are a few features in Kafka you can use to support multi-tenancy:

1. Authentication and ACLs (see http://docs.confluent.io/3.0.1/kafka/security.html) to control access to different topics/consumer groups/etc

2. Quotas (see https://kafka.apache.org/documentation#design_quotas) to control resource usage for different tenants
