Does librdkafka now support the confluent schema registry with the 2.0 release? If not any plans to soon? Any examples if already supported?

Thanks

Ahmed,

librdkafka does not directly support the schema registry. We're building support in a library which you can use in conjunction with librdkafka called libserdes. It isn't included in Confluent Platform quite yet, but you can see the code here https://github.com/confluentinc/libserdes and we will be including it in a future release.

Thanks,
Ewen

Thanks Ewen, doesn't seem like that's a public repo but good to know it's coming.

Hi,
it seems it not available yet. I just wanted to write POC for C producer using SR and I can't find anything for it. Any plan for it when it will be released?

Many thanks,
Petr

Hi Petr,

we're looking at releasing a public beta of libserdes within the next couple of weeks.
I'll let you know when it is available.

Thanks,
Magnus

I'm happy to announce the public release of Confluent's libserdes C/C++ schema-registry client library which is now available for technical preview:

This library is work in progress and not yet officially supported but we'll do our best to answer any questions or tend to any issues found, all feedback is welcome.

Thank you,
Magnus
