Just thought I would share this information with the group for those
of you who have had your appetites whetted by the second Med Flory
Festival.  Keep in mind that the real Chicago Jazz Festival happens on
September 4th - 6th.  (not to be confused by the soft jazz thing that
takes place earlier in the summer.)

Anyway the price for all of the official Mayor's Office festivities is
right - absolutely free.

26th Annual Chicago Blues Festival

The 2009 fest runs three days instead of four. Whether or not this

world" is yet to be determined. What we do know is that this Chicago
staple will continue to be a hugely popular event.

Good to hear from you Jazz! It has been a while.

Just so everyone knows I don't mean to slight Indiana festivals at all
by posting about Chicago's abundant festival scene here. It's just
that I knew the Blues Fest was coming up soon. Also even in this
economy the Chicago Mayor's Office of Special Events has managed to
keep these events absolutely free of admission charges.

I am hoping to post on the Indy Jazz Fest (under new management and
about everything else as far as I can tell) in just a few days.

What I know so far is that Indy Jazz Fest 2009 is scheduled for the
week of September 21 through 27, 2009. I know that it will be in many
different venues with the final days presently slated as 'outdoors.'
Sunday September 27, 2009 is scheduled to be 'Family Day.'

I know nothing of admission charges yet or even finalized locations,
but as I previously mentioned I hope to post more details in the
coming days.
