Journalist Andrew Schneider wins Food Award.

Congratulations to Seattle Post-Intellegencer journalist Andrew Schneider who was awarded best food news story by the Association of Food Journalists  for an article on the health dangers of the butter-flavored additive diacetyl. His ongoing coverage of the subject also won third place in the best food project category.

 

I never knew there was an "Association of Food Journalists," but I'm glad they have good taste. (Pun intended.)

In addition to covering the diacetyl/popcorn lung battles at OSHA and NIOSH, as well as in Congress concerning popcorn and other food manufacturing workers, Schneider also led an investigation that revealed high exposures among short order cooks.
