We've recently released 1.10.0, which includes updates the the python requirements to patch for CVEs for c-ares and gevent (see CVE-2016-5180). Users are encouraged to upgrade to pick up these changes. Take a look through the changelog (https://github.com/lyft/confidant/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md) for changes between your version and 1.10.0. There should be no backwards incompatible changes.
