I think Zoom.Quiet is talking about using Google Talk as Google Groups
client via confbot. However, I don't think this is a good idea.
Instance messaging is a too different thing from email/forum system.
And in technical point, google groups may consider the confbot server as
a spammer and ban it if it posts too much in a short time.

It will be good if the confbot sends the logs to its own gmail account
periodly for backup purpose. However, I prefer to write a simple shell
script and setup crontab to do that;)

But this brings me a thought: maybe we can email the chat log to members
so that a member can know what happened when he is offline?

that's right. and even don't let bot to do that , but another program
to do. For instance set a backup.py in crontab.
