I find that whenever I "go" with the mouse to drag the scrollbar (cmd.exe), it has disappeared! And doesn't come back!
Is this expected?
Thanks for the previous fixes, BTW. :)

Nope. I does not notice this strange behaviour.
Version, OS, Options, Screenshots, ...

Hello Roger,

You said

Video does not approve this sentence :D

Goto settings and play with "Always show scrollbar".
Default behavior is my idea - show scrollbar when it needed:
on scrolling console or mouseover.

Ahh I see now that it does on mouseover, but it takes quite awhile for
it to appear, I would recommend the default be 100ms to avoid
confusion for others like myself who don't know that we *should* let
it sit there to appear by default :)
Cheers!

My other gripe about this is that when the scroll bar "appears" it obscures the text at the right side, which makes scrolling up and down large log files hard since you can't see all of each line.

But anyone can turn scrollbar constantly ON,
if defailt behavior does not suite one`s taste.
I hate scrollbar, it is outside of severe look of console.
Imho, scrollbar is not required for console at all.
I dont mean "scrolling", only "scrollbar" as
element of interface...

On the other hand, I have some plans about theming
of ConEmu, and scrollbar might be themed too.
Atm, I like Ubuntu`s scroller )

I have the scrollbar turned ON, but with enough output into the window (say a huge repository conversion) the scrollbar turns itself OFF and will not turn back on again.

It is definitely required, when this turns off I cant look back through the history at all, I cant review the output of the thing that I just ran either.

Which is massively frustrating!

I really like ConEMu, but this is utterly broken and renders it useless at the moment I'm afraid :(

Well, I have two things to say.
1. Not complete description. What version you are using? Your ConEmu.xml? Screenshots of ConEmu and of real console which can be shown by CtrlWinAltSpace?
2. Update to the last alpha build first.

1. 130427 x64 (No newer stable version available)

Where will I find ConEmu.xml?

I have found out what actually causes this, its running vim in the console. On exiting vim the console. The scrollbars exist and are functional until vim is used, and then when exiting vim they dont reappear. I have no idea why....

If I use a cmd.exe and do the same thing (edit a file in vim, scrollbars disapeear, exit vim) the scrollbars reappear.

This is completely repeatable, and occurs every time I try and use vim to edit a file.

2. Is this really likely to help given the further info above about what is causing this?

I have lived with this for a while now. I get round it by loading vim with "-new_console" edit what I need then close the split.

I just did.

Behaviour is now as follows:-

1. Edit file with vim
2. Exit vim
3. Observe how the conEmu console now appears ocmpletely broken:-

And the underlying cmd appears equally busted:-

Try installing gvim on your machine and running vim from the command prompt on any file in conEmu and you can repeat this bebhavior as much as you like.

I am goin gto reinstall the previous stable release, I dont run alpha code as a rule on my dev machine, sorry.

Joy, I cant add images by pasting them into the message.

Maximus, iunstall vim, try running it yourslef. The behaviour is the same always.

Vim works flawlessly in a cmd.exe, it should behave the same in conEmu, if it doesnt conEmu is broken.

Cheers,

Si

Just tested that build and it certainly looks to be working for me now (very quick test, so I may yet find another error condition).

Thanks Maxmimus!

I experiencing Simon's problem with the scrollbar not working when vim is launched and exited from the conemu console.  I'm running version 140128.

Is there some configuration that needs to be made for this to work properly or has this build regressed from 130621?

Thanks,
Adam
