Ihave tried replacing all of the cables (DVI and power, I even tried a vga cable, just in case), I changed the power source (different plug strip, different wall socket), I have tried changing refresh rates, brightness, power management settings (it is set to never use power management settings), I have tried a different monitor on the computer, and hooking up the monitor to a different computer to rule out any possibilities. The monitor has never been dropped or roughed up or had food thrown at it. I updated my video drivers, the BIOS and windows. Ive run virus scans. Ive tried to replicate the problem in the presence of other people, and it doesnt matter how much stuff I open up to try to confuse the monitor, it wont replicate, but the minute everyone walks out of the room, it starts turning itself off again, so part of me thinks its just trying to make me batty

I suspect the buttons are at fault, since at one point, the power button became unpushable for a period of time, but it is working properly now, and there is no difficulty in pushing it. The issue seems entirely unreplicatable, intermittent and with no pattern. I have tried using some compressed air to clean out the buttons, but Im afraid that only made it worse. Im not exactly technically proficient and I know a monitor can become unsuable if you dismantle it while breathing normally, and the micron thick tape can turn into vapor if you look at it.

I suppose my question is: Is there something I can do to fix this, or should I just suck it up and take it into a repair shop? It is my understanding that the warrenty is not valid on this monitor anymore as of like.. 3 weeks ago. Of course -_-
