I already tried double-clicking on the xxx.soundpack files.
When I opened Sound packager afterward I only see the Default Sounds pack visible in the Local windows of the Sound packs.
I tried also to open the files from within another folder. No success.
There is the possibility to change the data location of the [My Documents] folder.
I use a whole drive (D) as My Document folder. So that is the reason I have them there.
It should be a pity if that's the reason for the installation failure. I hope not.
When you right click on files names xxx.soundpack does the menu I post in Reply#3 shows up? If it does and if that sound have not yet installed it will be install into your soundpackager once you choose The "install Soundpack sound pack".
You will need to open up the soundpackager and select that sound pack and click on Apply Sound pack button to apply it. When you click the Apply sound pack button, a short sample sound will be play. For example if you choose Aquarium pack. A short bubble sound will be play after you press that button.
When I right click on the soundpack the menu shows up the way your image illustrates. However, clicking on that produces NO changes in SoundPackager - the only sounds I can select (in Sound Packager) are the Windows default sounds. There is no alternative choice.
This problem I mentioned already 2 weeks ago.
I tried every possible manner to make it work.
Finally, I gave up and uninstalled Sound Packager.
It hasn't any sense to install software that is not working correctly and fully.
The main purpose of SoundPackager is to be able to install and use the sounds you personally want.
If the software fails then it is useless to have it installed.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Just as a test, Using the Default "Aquarium" Sound pack. apply it. And turn on Apply enhanced sounds in your "Options". If it was off before you need to turn it on and reapply Aquarium Sound pack. Test and see Max, Min button sound work on Windows Explorer. Try that first and report back.
I am having same issue as well. I have purchased, tried to run as admin with no luck. I want to download and apply the MacOS soundpack, clicked download, button says "Installing", after that button text turned to "Apply sound pack" Clicked it and there is no change. Rebooted, deleted all the packs, reinstalled several times and now I have a software licence that doesn't work.
I have checked that the soundpacks are downloading but whenever I double-click a *.soundpackager file, nothing happens. Downloaded soundpacks appear on file explorer but not in soundpackager local sounds.

Thanks for the information. I have forward your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.
It is off and I don't use windows virus protection. I am using Kaspersky. But I tried to disable protection and then tried to download again and still no luck. BTW, It's never worked, not in trial mode not in purchased mode after several re-installs and reboots still doesn't work at all
Wait!
I downloaded some soundpackages from online tab in Soundpackager. Right clicked the downloaded package and clicked OPEN SOUNDPACK FOLDER. There are folders and all the folders are empty except a soundpackage.ini file but it contains just a couple lines:
Continuing its theme of filling in the blanks in Windows, Stardock this week released a new sound scheme manager called SoundPackager 10. It helps users change the default sounds in Windows using themed sound schemes that it calls sound packages.
Stardock SoundPackager 10 fixes that. It provides a modern interface to the sound schemes functionality that Microsoft ignores. And it provides access to a cloud-hosted library of sound schemes that users can browse and download.
In reply to JimP:Yes, absolutely, some do. I remember putting together a Kim Possible theme for my niece back in the day. When I was president of a local car club I put together a Windows theme, complete with sound effects, for our people. It had desktop wallpaper of member's cars and sounds like a motor rev for windows maximization, squealing breaks for minimize, etc. If you are really into something, it can be fun to customize your PC experience to match. This Stardock package sounds like fun.
Ya, I actually have my speakers unplugged for the most part and only put on headphones nowadays, but I'd still be interested in trying it out. I really need to look to their other solutions too for their other Stardock (docking) features.
In reply to XboxOneJimCramer:New icons could fill in the blanks if each came in multiple versions that supported different color schemes instead of being all blue (or all orange in some cases). This adds choice. The new icons add blue.
My personal opinion is this is a little bit too late and probably many don't care all that much about what sounds Windows makes. I imagine those who would use it are those who use Stardock's other products to go back to 'the good 'ol days' of prior Windows versions.
Similarly this feels like how most smartphone users have gravitated when it comes to ringtone usage, as a timely recent XKCD reference. I don't think I've ever heard anyone use anything other than vibrate only on their phones recently.
I was recently thinking about how the cool sounds that Windows used to have back in the day are now gone. It was actually kind of fun. Using stardock is a blast from the past too. This would be a great little addition for something that I used to enjoy in the old operating system.I would love to try out this new tool.
I would like to win one of these keys. This could be interesting to play with. It is a shame that Microsoft hasn't done more to update and address really old tools, settings, dialog windows, etc. in Windows.
Looks pretty cool, but you can actually get to that modal by right clicking sound in the system tray and then selecting Sounds.
Personally I'm happy Microsoft is doing stuff like icons, and maybe they will eventually do something with sounds in a fall feature update. I just wish my work laptop would get 1903 so I could use the light theme.
That's cool. I wonder if it has a sound pack called "Computer Sounds From The Movies". Lots of "computer" sounds in shows and movies are pretty cool but have never found something similar for actual computers. Then after sound themes kind of faded away in Windows I just let it go. Time to check out this app.
Cool. This is something Microsoft removed from Windows for no good reason instead of removing .NET bloatware, Linux subsystem and other non sense. Windows 2000 Pro used to fit into 300Mb media and ever since Microsoft has been adding non sense to it.
Oh the good old days. I haven't messed with the default theme in years (except for the wallpaper), but seems like a good time to change that. Downloading the trial right now!
Would like to get a key as well. Good luck everyone!
I love Stardock. Every year when my Object Desktop sub expires, I think about whether I should renew. Then I look at how clean my desktop is because of Fences and consider how much use I get out of Groupie, and clicking the renew button is a no-brainer.
Sounds Nice, and I am sure this app will have a nice market.
ME.. I have no use for it, My speakers are off 90% of the time, I only turn them on if I need sound, listen to a youtube video, or MP3 or too game..
In the old days, disabling the sounds would be one of the first things I did..

Well, in fact I intented to buy Fences 4 originally. But since the web page offered me Object desktop as a better deal (more items for just 15 eur more I decited to buy Object desktop. There was no information that I buy subscription, not the lifetime license. On the link you posted I also got to know that even after 1 year I still will be able to use Fences and other programs (with no upgrades).
I reinstalled windows recently and went to download my object desktop software, but the download page indicates I need to renew to download it? I've double and triple checked, and nowhere on the Object desktop page does it say I was purchasing a subscription. If I knew it was I would never have purchased it in the first place. I've lost all the respect I had for stardock previously as a result, and would never consider recommending their products to my friends/coworkers. If I am purchasing a subscription it needs to be clearly stated. Just look at the object desktop page, ctrl+F and search subscription, you wont find any mention of it...
