concurrency kit - ck_ht usage

Hi

I have seen some examples in regressions/ck_ht , I would like to know the difference between serial and parallel_bytestring codes.
My requirement is I would like to create cache which can be accessed by multiple readers. I have used serial code but when I have tested using jmeter  on get operation, all data that is in hash table giving nil values. But when I call manually it is giving correct value for a given key.
