i finished yakuza 5 the other day, and after 85 hours of that game i need a break before moving onto 0. so, i decided to play the game the yakuza developers made to give themselves a break between 4/dead souls and 5: binary domain. there isn't a modern port of the game, but it did receive a pc port at the time (perhaps an indication of their genuine attempt to appeal to the west). being that it was a japanese pc port from 2012, i expected some issues. i was right to!
immediately i know that keyboard/mouse is out the window, given that this was a console shooter from a japanese developer. there's zero way the game doesn't have some sort of weird keybindings or mouse acceleration issues (pcgw tells me that that is indeed the case). so that leaves gamepad, which i'm fine with. because as they say,
however, the problem is that since 2012 controllers have evolved, and so if you plug basically any controller in that isn't an xbox 360 pad in you're gonna get nonfuctional controls. like, "y-axis aiming is tied to the triggers" nonfunctional. there's a few different solutions to this, most of them annoying. the simplest though is so funny to me. y'see in a lot of pc games, if your controller is not turned on/plugged in before the game starts, the game will refuse to recognize it until you restart the game. binary domain decided to innovate in this area. if you want normal controls, you need to make sure you turn on/plug in your controller after the game is started. i have literally never seen that before and probably never will again.
in another input issue, we have the voice input system, which has you using voice commands to issues squad commands and respond to dialogue. the problem is that no matter what i tried, i literally could not get it to work. i swapped microphones, i changes settings in windows, i even loaded audacity to make sure i wasn't going insane. eventually i just gave up and disabled the feature altogether. this isn't necessarily a problem, but doing so also creates a sort of vacuum in the battle chatter. because the game was designed with you physically saying "charge!", the player character doesn't actually say that much in gameplay. your squadmate will chew you out for going down in an encounter, and you can tell him to piss off, but dan marshall doesn't actually say it when you just hit x. after an awkward silence big bo responds and calls you an asshole. it's very awkward.
Since I got the game as soon as the main menu opens my game auto scrolls down as if I was constantly pressing down on the controller. It also does it in the options, on the map and every thing that requires scrolling up or down. I thought it may have been my controller so I purchased a new controller and still have the same issue.
I disconnected my steering wheel just incase it was that as I read people were having issues with the pedals.
My controller works perfectly fine with other games, just having issues with NFS Heat.
Anyone else having this problem? as I can't find any answers on Google.
Hey everyone. I know this is a super old issue but Microsoft has never fixed or addressed it. There are a couple things that help with this but none of them are solutions, more workarounds. The first, already mentioned is to plug in your controller.
The second is to get the official wireless adapter from Microsoft so you aren't using Bluetooth and another slightly less known workaround is to turn off the vibration function in your game settings.
The last one, Turning off vibrations, isn't nearly as effective as the first two but it's something for those that don't have a long cord or a wireless dongle. Turning off the vibration will only increase fps slightly (+20 fps for me) and it wont effect the input lag or stuttering.
Disabling/bypassing Bluetooth headsets and controllers are the only complete work-arounds right now.
This issue is completely controller specific and so using a Dual-shock 4 via Bluetooth has none of the issues although setting it up comes with it's own headaches. lol
I had this problem recently when playing several PC games with my xbox controller using bluetooth. The solution is to update your controller firmware. This can be done by downloading the xbox accessories app in the microsoft app store, connecting your controller to the pc wired, and using the app to update the firmware. Cheers!
i have this problem too, but when i use 8bitdo handcontroller with bluetooth it works just fine. sometimes my yakuza like a dragon game fps drops to 3-10 fps when using xbox one controller and then its like a button is stuck or pressing a button does nothing.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon is the latest entry in the long-running franchise from SEGA. This is the first time the title has launched on PC with consoles as well. If you are on PC and are running into any Yakuza like a dragon controller issue, here a few things you can try to fix it.
The game has a Very Positive rating on Steam, and the title has been reviewed positively by critics as well. For the most part, the game runs very well on PC, but there are a few minor issues.
DS4Windows does not magically transform your gamepad from one type to another. It creates a virtual gamepad that is associated to your real one. This means that if you have 1 real gamepad connected then windows will actually detect 2 gamepads (real + virtual). If 2 real then 4 and so on.
This situation can make games/apps receive commands from both the real gamepad as well as DS4Windows' virtual controller/keyboard at the same time, which can lead to lots of different issues. Check the examples below:
This option exists on DS4Windows' Settings tab. When enabled, DS4Windows will kindly ask Windows for exclusive access to detected devices, meaning the later would only allow DS4Windows to detect the gamepads and preventing the double input issue.
For the reasons explained above, the Hide DS4 Controllers option is NOT RECOMMENDED, though it remains available to users that need to use it for whatever reason. HidHide is the better option all around for those who can use it.
In case you really need to use this option, there is a dedicated troubleshooting page for the Hide DS4 controllers option that can be followed to verify why windows is failing to grant the exclusive access request.
SEGA Dev on Stream recently requested the users to unveil and report the bugs that they have been experiencing so far. Stating that it will be helpful for the QA team to address those bugs that have been spotted by the users.
However, players from all over the world have reported problems ever since the game was released. In fact, some players have used a trial and testing method to figure out some potential workarounds to the problems.
In this article, we are going to give you an idea of what to expect in terms of issues. You will have list the most common Yakuza Kiwami PC bugs reported by gamers. Keep reading this article to find out the list of Yakuza Kiwami PC reported issues.
According to some of the users, this is a temporary issue and it can be resolved by verifying the integrity of the game files and relaunching the stream. This quick workaround resolved the no audio/ sound issue for most of the users.
If you are still facing the issue, restarting the PC after verifying the game files is believed to also believed to be a potential solution. While some of them claimed that the sound appeared by switching to the Full-Screen Mode.
Moreover, few of the players also reported some issue with the mouse while playing the game. They are facing difficulties in turning around the camera even with setting the sensitivity to its maximum.
Gamers also confirmed that all the cutscenes were unlocked from the start. Those who have already played the game might find that cool, but it must be annoying for you if you are playing the game for the first time.
Game crashes is another bug that is related to game crashes. As reported by the players the game just freezes or crashes after Kiryu and Shinji cutscene. One of the players went on to explain the issue as:
A user suggested a temporary fix to the bug when a higher refresh rate is impossible. You can use an external program to limit the framerate to 60 Hz. If you are running the game in Full Screen, it can also be done through Vsync.
The game seems to bring some issues with the controllers as well. A couple of people reported that they are experiencing difficulties while using the controllers. They were forced to use a mouse or a keyboard to play the game. The issue is stated as follows:
The game restricts the users to change the resolution settings to 5120 x 2880. When the users try to change it to anything above 2160p, the program activates some kind of limit and turns down the resolution to 10242880.
The issue can be fixed by downloading the SCPtoolkit and installing Dualshock 3 driver for the controller. You will see that Xbox 360 controller driver also gets installed during the process. At the end, you will have to navigate to the kiwami folder for setting up x360ce controller. You can confirm the installation through the menu as you can now spot Xbox buttons at the bottom right instead of the PC keys.
