These opportunities might be of interest to neighbors who are interested in Gorge issues (transportation of fossil fuels through the Gorge? plans to tap the Gorge water for bottling and sale by Nestle?) or County governance and service issues more generally:

For residents interested in civic involvement, Multnomah County is currently seeking representatives to serve on either the Columbia River Gorge Commission or the Charter Committee.
