Concordia Neighbors Invited!

Concordia University is working on its 10-year Facilities Master Plan, and you are invited to participate.  A free, open, public meeting, including light refreshments, will be held on Thursday, Oct. 9, 6-9 p.m. in the Student Events & Activities Center (SEAC) on the second floor of Hagen Center on Concordia’s NE Portland campus at 2911 NE Holman St.  Questions or for more information call 503-493-6456.

Hmm. lets see, I believe we first must be reminded of 1st  Amendment Billl of Rights under the US Constitution.  the community newspaper is the most fundamental of our rights to freedom of the press which is so often taken for granted. I dont want to spend much time debating the subject, i will just say... Yes the artical was biased as is in ANY written document what is new about that.  I think the letter is printed in "letters to the Editor" and let the community decide what if anything is required. The Concorian is a platforn for expressing ideas and when appropraite, a time to exchange views on those ideas.  i dont think we want to begin or appologize for the level of Editorial overview as this is not our place to begin censoring budding ideas, start at this level and in the next generation reminders of brownshirts becomes a reality.  Does  our one little paper make a difference? only if you dont think a little supression wont hurt.   I say, print it as long as it does not advocate violence, obsenity blah blah blah and then let the community decide and maybe get involved. if there is anything that i would conced to is that maybe the artical should not been featured as front page "news" but better under the
