Hello All,
Tuesday’s board meeting was terrific! We had only one absence and got a lot of work done. I look forward to great things this year, and I am certain 2015 will be a year we will all be proud of.
And now for the not so good news . . . Unfortunately, I had requested discussion of the General Meeting be moved to the end of the agenda and did not remember to circle back before the meeting closed. I think you will all agree that we are not prepared to host a meaningful General Meeting at this point. With only 3 weeks to prepare for a March General Meeting, it is unrealistic to expect we could provide a worthwhile event. Your effort and dedication on behalf of our neighbors is hugely valuable and important; however, a poorly planned meeting would undermine the credibility of the Board and detract from all you have done. Therefore, I am postponing the March General Meeting until April 7th. I have requested Mary Wiley, our Concordia News guru, to post a front-page announcement advising our neighbors of the new date.
This will buy us more planning time, but we still need to come up with a program of real interest and relevance if we expect neighbors to show up. There are certainly a good number of “hot” topics we can put forth as central topic(s), but we will need to identify "experts" who are available and willing to present. So I am asking each of you to list the top two topics you would like to be spotlighted (only 2), and I am also asking for 3 volunteers who would be in charge of organizing the main events and refreshments, etc. Please respond at your earliest opportunity so we can put together a vital, interesting program.
