Google's Fiber to the Community initiative certainly has generated a lot of interest. There were 1,100 communities and 194,000 individuals who responded. Check out this
for more details.
I've received some feedback from members of our community about our
supplemental info web site and I'll be updating it shortly.
It would be great if we can sustain the momentum of enthusiastic interest in Town regardless of what Google decides to do. One way to do this might be to develop the ideas about how we would use an ultra high-speed Internet into more detailed usage scenarios. Usage Scenarios could include application details, technical system requirements, and identification of technical and societal challenges that would need to be addressed. This is not an easy task but one that would benefit from the spectrum of perspectives and expertise within the group.
What are your thoughts? Is there a specific Usage Scenario to which you'd like to contribute?
