Please give a warm welcome to the Center for the Study of Science Fiction's new AboutSF Coordinators, Meagan Kane and Mackenzie VanBeest! They've been getting up to speed this week, consulting with prior AboutSF Coordinators, setting up their workspace, and planning for future SF-education outreach work. When in Lawrence, KS, you can find Meagan and Mackenzie throughout the week in the CSSF offices and Lending Library located in 3040 Wescoe (their schedule is posted outside the room). Speaking of our library, we'll host a grand re-opening later this spring, after we complete alphabetizing our massively improved holdings of books, magazines, digital media, and ephemera. Our volunteer librarian from when we first acquired the bulk of the collection commented on it thus: "This could end up being the best collection of paperback SF in the country." So stay tuned.

AboutSF is the Center's educational-outreach program. We help teachers, librarians, researchers, and readers learn more about speculative literature and how to use it in teaching. AboutSF is a joint project of the Center for the Study of Science Fiction at KU, the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, and the Science Fiction Research Association, with generous support from Tor Books, The Heinlein Prize Trust, and several individual donors.
