The Puget Sound Business Journal in their latest issue(January 25-31) has released their
annual report on the hospitality industry in the area. Some interesting developments in
regards to hotels.
There's two large scale hotels that are on the drawing boards right now for both Bellevue
and Seattle.
In Seattle, developer R.C. Hedreen is proposing a 1,200 room hotel on the site of the current
Seattle Greyhound station.
Downtown 8th & 9th Avenue
Stewart & Howell Streets
The unbranded hotel at this time would have 125,000 sq. ft. exhibition space.
In Bellevue, Marriott is proposing to build a 376 room hotel and the exhibition space
would be 22,000 sq. ft.
The address is
200 100th Ave Avenue NW Bellevue, WA
We'll see if these hotels get built. I know in Portland they've been trying forever to get a
very large(above 500 room) hotel build next to the Oregon Convention Center. Vancouver
BC has had better luck getting new big hotel built in their city recently.
Cheers
