THE Logitech C920 webcam may not work on your PC because of outworn, missing, or faulty drivers. Therefore, update drivers to resolve the issues. You can update the Logitech C920 drivers both manually and automatically.

Please keep in mind that the Logitech c920 and Brio are Zoom certified devices that will work with Zoom. We recommend that you update your Zoom client as well as your external camera device, such as your c920, to see if that resolves your issue.

I have verified I have the most recent updates for the Logitech Webcam C910. Specifically, the mirrored vs normal is not working in zoom. I have tested multiple times, closed and opened zoom, etc, with consistently the same results.

Another possibility is the zoom client or app that you are using. I suggest using cleanzoom to completely remove zoom and then reinstall the latest version. As of 11/25/2023, the current windows client is 5.16.10.

My guess is that there are no drivers installed for the Logitech c920 on my pi, but I'm not sure. How would I download drivers or what should I do to be able to use my webcam? The c920 is on the list of approved webcams, I have nothing else being powered by my pi so I should have enough power output to take a simple picture.

I spent a number of hours recently with my C920 and a Raspberry Pi 3 recently to make a babyCam that I could stream within my home network. I may be able to shed some light but also provide documentation and experience to other users.

The C920's H.264 encoder is good but its rate seems only works at 3 Mb/s average bit rate no matter what the resolution. However, I tend to use 720p, that is 1280x720 because a 16:9 aspect ratio makes sense for the application.

On testing the camera's audio, I recorded and listened to the WAV file I recorded to the Pi's local storage. Unfortunately with this recipe, you'll need to Ctrl-C after 10 seconds. Cleanup the extra record files. So I can record good sound from the camera with this command to a wav file but I can't make arecord stop at 10 seconds:

Recently my Logitech c920 webcam microphone stopped working on my ubuntu 18.04. Microphone (input) recognized by system but not catching any sound. Skype and Cheese recognizing input but not catching any sound. Not hardware issue. When re-booting to Windows 10 everything working well. I am running out of ideas.

Although this was the alternate-sample-rate, used to avoid resampling, I believe that's only used if there's not something already doing some audio at default-sample-rate, which I guess would explain why my C922 audio sometimes worked and sometimes didn't, and had stopped working altogether until I made this change. Not really a satisfactory explanation but it fixed it for me.

Navigating the perplexing technology glitches can indeed be a daunting task, especially when your Logitech camera decides to take an unscheduled break just when you are all set for a video call. Regarded as the bee's knees of webcam, the Logitech models, whether it's the flagship webcam C920 or the basic C270, aren't immune to errors. One recurrent issue vexing users is the Logitech camera not working or being detected. If this is what you are dealing with, fret not, as below we have collected the best 6 ways to fix the 'Logitech camera not working' error. Read on!

Given the versatility of Logitech webcams, factors that contribute to the 'Logitech camera not working or detected' error can come down to many, such as damaged physical components like ports, cables, or the webcam itself, permission issues, misconfigured webcam settings, outdated or corrupt webcam drivers, etc.

Checking the connection port is always the first step in troubleshooting the Logitech camera not working error. A loose or faulty connection can lead to disruptions in communication, causing the camera to malfunction. By examining the connection port and checking if the wires are tangled or damaged, you can rule out a common and easily fixable cause before digging into more complex software or configuration problems.

Step 3. Double-click it and check if the Logitech webcam shows up. If the Logitech webcam remains undetected, unplug the webcam, shut down your system, plug back the camera, and restart the PC. After that, your Logitech camera shall function properly.

Windows privacy settings can be another contributor to Logitech webcam problems due to the restrictions they impose on the camera's access to certain functionalities. Privacy settings are designed to safeguard user data and protect against unauthorized access to devices, including webcams. When these settings are too stringent, they may block the Logitech webcam's ability to function properly and lead to the Logitech C920/C270 camera not working error.

Reinstalling Logitech software proves to be another solution to fix the webcam issues, as this can address potential problems such as corruption, outdated software, driver issues, configuration errors, and missing files. To do so:

Step 3. Once the uninstallation is complete, restart the camera to check if it works with your software. If the error persists, uninstall the entire Logitech software and re-download it from the Logitech website.

Logitech webcams may encounter issues on Windows 10 due to conflicts with other programs like Skype, Discord, VPN, etc. In such instances, disabling these conflict apps can fix the error and restore seamless performance to your Logitech camera.

Over time, the driver installation may become corrupted, leading to operational issues. Reinstalling the driver could ensure a fresh and clean setup, eliminating potential corruption and fixing the Logitech camera not working error. To do that:

While apps on the Mac do recognise and use the webcam, the reason I purchased it was to get better control of the lighting, zoom, colour balance functions etc. This is not possible without an additional app.

Thanks for your reply Wayne. Unfortunately the v2.5.12 you refer to is for Windows only, there is no Mac version which is the issue I am raising. When you click on the OS button it just offers different versions of Windows.

@timstringer I just purchased a logitech camera and have struggled to get it to work with my Mac, Catalina 10.15.2, especially through the logitech website. Is Webcam Settings maybe the easiest app to just get started recording (thats my only goal right now)? I have also seen a lot of people mention it but was concerned as all the mentions were 3+ years ago. Its also a paid app, correct?

Maybe I am missing something. I have the Logitech Camera Setting app, but I do not see a way to actually record anything. It just simply shows me the camera view and how each adjustment changes the picture quality.

Since starting this thread I have been using the Logitech Camera Setting app and it seems to do everything I need. The point I mention above re using with ScreenFlow still exists - SF seems to override some of the settings.

- I open app.gotomeeting.com and enter my meeting-id.
- I select computer and continue.
- I allow Chromium to access to my microphone.
- Select my microphone and speaker.
- I test both of them: Speaker plays music. Green bar responds to my voice.
- I start the meeting, wait for the organizer.
- Meeting is open, I hear everyone, my camera works (after allow it for Chromium), but my microphone does not work. GoTo says it does not have permissions.

In a meeting some days ago, I could reload the meeting-page again and my microphone worked. But today this workaround does not work any more. In the microphone-list, is the not working laptop-microphone the first in the list, after that the Logitech is in the list. Perhaps this helps.

to submit correct bug reports, I started with a fresh default-profile in Chromium and the same version of Chromium for each meeting. So there are no rules or permissions for webcam/microphone saved (I verified this).
