Font Awsome not rendering after update to Concerto 2.4.0-beta.1

I manually updated my Concerto 2.3.5 installation to 2.4.0-beta.1 (was aiming for 2.3.6 but overshot a bit).

I now have a working signage system except for the font awsome icons. The uni-code strings are displayed by my browser (e.g. F143 for the feeds on the dashboard) rather than the font awesome icons.

What should I do to resolve this?
