Just installed the latest V2 and it is mind-blowing how great it all looks and works. As a Concerto 1.9 user I couldn't be more thrilled to see you putting out v2, and the install process on Ubuntu Server was a doddle.

However - it would be very helpful if you could put in some additional settings for time and date.

Specifically, it's quite common to use 24-hour time in some parts of the world (23:00 instead of 11 pm) and the date too is written differently (21-11-2013 for instance instead of 11-21-2013) and so forth.

It's not a huge change, I would think, and it would really make a great difference in how the screen looks overall when users see the usual form of time presentation.

There was also some glitch when installing the Debian packages, which don't appear to have prevented the install from working:

Your bundle is complete!
It was installed into ./vendor/bundle
/usr/bin/ruby1.9.1 /usr/share/concerto/vendor/bundle/ruby/1.9.1/bin/rake assets:precompile:all RAILS_ENV=production RAILS_GROUPS=assets
ERROR: Site concerto does not exist!
dpkg: error processing concerto-full (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
 concerto-full
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Again, my hat is off to you and I'm really excited to give v2 a whirl.

Hi Kimmo,
A key part of Concerto 2's configurability actually revolves around Field Parameters (or FieldConfigs as we call them internally). Basically, they are field-specific configurations for a screen and when implemented fully, will make the sorting algorithm, time format, and many other such things readily adjustable. While we have yet to add any parameters for user adjustment, you can see the "Manage" button for this when you click on any field from the screen page.

On the package installation, I've experienced the same problem you have, but only intermittently and have been unable to find the cause (you can follow this bug at https://github.com/concerto/concerto-debian/issues/47). Part of the problem was the rather defective Apache upgrade that Ubuntu pushed recently. It changed the syntax of the Apache config file sufficiently to break existing installs and began requiring virtual host config files to end in .conf - also breaking many installs. I've considered switching to another webserver on the VM, but while they have much to recommend them in terms of stability and speed, none of them are yet as easily configurable for general distribution as Apache is.

@august, I thought we had the format field config available... https://github.com/concerto/concerto/wiki/Field-Configuration

Hey Marvin,
I see a commit (https://github.com/concerto/concerto/commit/4d4268ef9cf0b59ff9b141b4c41a75fbd53128a8) for the shuffle algorithm, but nothing in the current code for the time format. Further, there's currently no way in the UI to create such a config, as we haven't figured out where in the application we'll store the possible configuration parameters for users to choose from. So I'd consider this still un-implemented.
