Budget meetings start next week

The first budget meeting is set for July 19 at 4:00.

I encourage all to attend and bring your neighbors.

There has been a lot of publicity about the reduction in ad valorem
(property) taxes because the assessed values have dropped. Ad
valorem taxes is our main source of revenue. This was the argument
last year as well when they raised the milage rate.

I honestly believe if we have enough people looking at the budget we
can come up with great ideas as to how to save money so they don't
have to raise the milage rate.

Next Tuesday will be the first of many budget meetings!!

I'm sorry I had to return to Georgia.  One of these days I'm going to be there for these meetings.  Thanks for keeping us informed.
