Mayor and Council Members,

 

Just a few months ago, registered voters of Mexico Beach attended several  candidates Meet & Greet Meetings , candidates events, , put support signs in their yards, answered their front door to meet the candidates, answered their phones and spoke to the candidates, asked questions, took the time to read flyers on their car windshield, attended free Hot Dog Events to meet candidates, talked to neighbors, went to the Candidate's web site to be informed, and citizens watched the first ever Mexico Beach GET OUT AND VOTE APRIL 16th Parade.  All the candidates worked very hard and expenses was high to get their message out to the citizens. Well, it worked. Mexico Beach had one of the highest voter turn out for only  2 Council Seats. It was a very close race for the candidates with less than 2 dozen deciding votes in some cases. Members of the Council and the Mayor should be proud of this high turnout of voters.

I would hope that you  Mayor Cathey, Councilman Pollock, Councilwoman Castro, and Councilman Mullen would honor and respect the voters that took the time to go to the polls and voted for either JEFF TENDLER or MARY BLACKBURN. It would be a shamed to disrespect the Voting Citizens of Mexico Beach by not unanimously appointing one of these candidates as the Citizens Choice to fill the vacant seat.
