Family Ties of Blood: A Bollywood Action Crime Drama
Family Ties of Blood is a 2006 Hindi film directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and starring Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Bhumika Chawla and Aryeman Ramsay. The film is a remake of the 2004 Tamil film Thirupaachi and tells the story of a honest cop who clashes with a ruthless gangster, who has a link to his past.
Plot Summary
The film begins with a flashback, where Shekhar Bhatia (Amitabh Bachchan), a former underworld don, is seen donating his kidney to his son Abhishek (Aryeman Ramsay), who is suffering from a terminal illness. Shekhar then decides to leave his criminal life and settle down with his family in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, ACP Karan Srivastav (Akshay Kumar) is an honest and brave police officer, who is transferred to Mumbai from Delhi. He is assigned to handle the case of Viren Sahai (Akshay Kumar), a notorious gangster who rules the city with an iron fist. Viren is also Shekhar's former boss and mentor, who had betrayed him and tried to kill him in the past.
Karan soon crosses paths with Viren and his henchmen, and starts a fierce battle with them. He also falls in love with Dr. Kavita (Bhumika Chawla), who works in the same hospital where Abhishek is admitted. Karan does not know that Kavita is Shekhar's daughter and Abhishek's sister.
As the story progresses, Karan learns about Shekhar's past and his connection with Viren. He also discovers that Viren is planning to kidnap Abhishek and use him as a bait to lure Shekhar out of hiding. Karan decides to team up with Shekhar and save Abhishek from Viren's clutches. The film culminates in a climactic showdown between Karan, Shekhar and Viren, where the truth is revealed and justice is served.
