The following message is from Josh Brewer, WFHB Operations Manager.


Dear Community Members!

WFHB Community Radio is having their Spring Fund Drive from April 23rd-May
4th. WFHB is a fully non-profit organization and an important asset to our
community. WFHB is a local, independent news source, has a Youth Radio
program supporting young voices, and has supported local musicians for
decades.

If you haven't heard, the station is facing a massive loss of money due to the
threat of federal cuts to the CPB (Corporation for Public Broadcasting).
WFHB has received CPB funds since the early 00s. These funds are about %20
of the current annual operating budget. Cuts would result in job loss and a
serious hit to the vital work WFHB does in the Bloomington community.

WFHB is facing some big challenges this year as a public media outlet, and
they are trying to raise $50,000 to make sure they stay solvent. Our
community is lucky to have an independent community radio station that is so
dialed-in to our community and works hard to serve us. They deserve our
support.
