Dear Community Member,

This is an update on the aftermath of our station being hit by
lightning and our fall fund drive efforts. We raised $32,297 of our
$35,000 goal. Thank you to everyone who donated so far! We literally
can't do it without you! Please contribute if you haven't had a
chance... all amounts count and make a big difference.

WFHB is still reeling from the effects of being hit by lightning
during Friday night's storm. The damage to station equipment is
widespread and unpredictable which is expected from lightning damage.
We are still finding pieces of equipment that are fried.

Initially, the main board, phones and Internet (and ability to stream)
were known to be affected. Many computers were fried. Several
underground cables that brought our broadcast from the board to our
transmitter are not working. As of now, our Internet and stream are
back and we are broadcasting out of a small analog mixer being plugged
directly into our transmitter.

Although our team has done a miraculous job of rebounding and getting
us back on the air under chaotic circumstances, there are many ways
that we are still limited by damaged equipment. Please be patient
with any problems you hear on the air, this is a very fluid situation.
Thanks so much to all the support and good wishes we have received.
We are likely still several weeks away from things returning to
normal.

If you would like to help, please send checks to 108 West 4th St.
Bloomington IN, 47404 or go online to wfhb.org and click the donate
button.

Thanks so much,
Brooke Turpin
